Apple email said delivers by Thurs 9/26. UPS tracking has it delivering Tues 9/24 (Atlanta area).

Shipped with an arrival date of Tuesday, 9/24! Apple Shipping Notification received this morning at 8am

Ordered on 9/20 at 2:03am CST; chose standard shipping. Silver 32GB AT&T and Space Gray 16GB AT&T
 
Looks like it's the Space Grey that is shipping and not the gold's. Not yet anyway.
EDIT: I meant grey and silver. NO gold's.

It seems like the shipping is much more random within the first group then the change to preparing was.

I am also 64GB gray (T-Mobile), received confirmation at 3:06, and I am still at "Preparing" (moved from Processing to Preparing yesterday evening). Ordered from the apple.com (not the app). Being sent to DC. It'll change soon I'm sure, I wouldn't stress about it.

There is no such thing as the bank "releasing a charge." A preauthorization is a done deal as far as the bank is concerned. The settling has to do with their exchange moving money between the bank and processor's account. The bank can't cancel a preauth and there is no interaction with the merchant after the preauthorization.

If it makes you feel any better, mine is at UPS and my charge is still pending. Which isn't surprising since its a Sunday and no one is working at the exchange.
 
Preparing for Shipment

Just got my "preparing for shipment" notice this morning. Ordered 16g silver
On Fri at 12:05. Can't wait. Good luck everyone.
 
Ordered two 32gigs space gray just seconds apart (simultaneously via Apple store app on two iPhones). One shipped today and is arriving Wednesday Sept 25th and the other is still preparing for shipment.

My Gold 64gb AT&T shipped. Ordered 12:02, received email confirmation right away. Scheduled to deliver by UPS Wed 9/25.
