Still at preparing for shipment....

I hope by Wednesday I will have my gold iPhone 5S...I gotta stop looking at this forum and obsessing over this thread. At least at work I will NOT have time to think about it:D:D:D

Anyone order a gold phone that is scheduled to come 9/24? Seems like most golds are coming 9/25. Just curious

It's 1 AM in China. Give it a few hours. They created my label at 7AM local which is about when I changed to preparing to ship...but then UPS didn't pick it up until 2 PM local and I didn't get notified until 9 PM local...an hour after it made a short hop and arrived at the depot.

Oops, Just screamed a little.

My status changed in the last 30 minutes!

Ordered Via Apple.com;
Unlocked Silver 64GB T-Mobile.
Paid with debit a card.
Order confirmation received at 12:08 (I completed my order a few minutes before).
Charged for both Apple Care+ & Phone.

Eeeeeeek:D

Mines still hasn't shipped.. I wonder if it's because of the Apple Care+? Maybe someone has to manually attach Apple Care+ to my Serial number.

There is no such thing as the bank "releasing a charge." A preauthorization is a done deal as far as the bank is concerned. The settling has to do with their exchange moving money between the bank and processor's account. The bank can't cancel a preauth and there is no interaction with the merchant after the preauthorization.

If it makes you feel any better, mine is at UPS and my charge is still pending. Which isn't surprising since its a Sunday and no one is working at the exchange.

Actually, whether my terminology is off or not, I have had a Preauth hold placed and not completed. The business has the ability to withdraw that hold and it's happened on more than one occasion. Hotel when paying with card. Held in preauth mode my entire stay. Check out I paid with cash and a day later hold removed and no money withdrawn. There are no absolutes.
But thanks for that extra info. :)

Yes, but the merchant can also reverse a final charge. The bank, however, is bound. A preauth is their promise to pay. A chargeback is when the bank tries to cancel and there are specific rules through their exchange.

Ordered my 64G AT&T iPhone 5S in Gold, obtained confirmation at 12:01am day of release and obtained my shipping notification with tracking this morning.

Email from apple states delivery from UPS on Sept 26th however when checking the tracking number UPS states delivery on Wednesday Sept 25th. Coming from China to California.

Coming from China it is funny that the east coast seems to be getting on Tuesday and the west coast on Wednesday. Logistics you suck (I am on the west coast)

Hopefully UPS contracted a plane...because I see no scheduled UPS departures from Hong Kong to Anchorage in the next day.

Although...there is a UPS flight inbound to Hong Kong from Anchorage that has no history...so its not a usual UPS flight.

Maybe the plane isnt leaving from Hong Kong? Maybe it departs from the ZhengZhou airport?

Ugh this is so frustrating. Kind of unfair that people who ordered after me get their phones shipped first. It's already 1:20 PM here on the East Coast and I have yet to get a shipping email.

I agree. I don't care if I'm last on the plane, but I want on the first plane.

What size and color did you get? I haven't seen one gold 32GB ship. Only 16GB and 64GB gold's.

Dude...chill...they are all going to be on the same plane. They just take them to the depot in batches to palletize.

Doesn't work that way. They always fly from Hong Kong and land in Anchorage due to fuel/cargo combinations. I'd bet this is the flight: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS62D

Also, there are no UPS flights inbound or outbound to ZhengZhou airport.

I can be completely off on this, but my FlightTrack Pro app on my iphone does saythere is a "China Cargo" flight from Zhengzhou to Anchorage. China Cargo 237. Scheduled for a 5:30 pm Departure.

No clue if it means anything.
