Mine made it to Korea at 8PM. Due in Detroit tomorrow!

We're on the same pallet! Mine got to Korea @ 20:00

----------

Here's some flight info for today's shipment. There's good reason to believe it's huge.

ZhengZhou to Incheon - UPS 5X113:
http://www.zzairport.com/flights_en.php?&airCode=02
Departure: 4:40 PM scheduled, 5:12 PM actual
Arrival: 8:10 PM scheduled, 7:59 PM actual

Incheon to Anchorage:
Now this is where it gets interesting. It looks like the phones are being distributed into a number of different planes, some UPS, some Polar Air Cargo, some Korean Air, and some Asiana. They all leave around the same time. These appear to be Apple chartered flights, as you can see the ramp up starting around September 9.

UPS 99 (regularly daily)
Polar Air Cargo 238 (regularly daily)
Korean Air 213 (regularly daily)
Korean Air 223 (9/10, 9/11, 9/17, 9/18, 9/24)
Korean Air 251 (9/10, 9/12, 9/17, 9/19, 9/24)
Korean Air 257 (9/14, 9/21, 9/24)
Korean Air 261 (9/24)
Korean Air 203 (9/24)

As you can see, there must be a HUGE shipment of iPhones leaving today. There are nine flights from Incheon to Anchorage tonight (it's Tuesday 9/24 in Korea). I speak Korean so I was able to get this info from my buddy at the airport. It's pretty amazing to see the Apple operation machine ramping up over time and kicking into full gear today. Wish I could work for them.

A lot of these likely are going to retail stores, too.

Why do you think phones are being loaded from 1 plane onto many planes? Even if UPS was using commercial airlines for cargo (doubtful), or sharing planes with FedEx (more doubtful), it doesn't make sense to distribute 1 plane load onto 2+ planes all flying to the same place (Anchorage). Moreover, it's not physically possible for 1 plane from ZhengZhou to hold 5 planes worth of phones -- and there's no record of more than 1 plane incoming from ZhengZhou.

Considering everyone's phone has gone the same route (ZhengZhou->Incheon->Anchorage->Louisville), there's little reason to think that today (days after launch) things would be different.

You can actually do that ? What is the procedure ... Which ups to call

Hi
I called the 1-800 PICK UPS number and just asked them if I could hold it at Will Call. Normally I have to sit around and wait at home. This way, when it arrives to my distribution center in San Diego, I can just pick it up when it arrives.

I'm guessing because the flight from ZhengZhou is filled exclusively with iPhones (about 450,000 of them), and there isn't enough cargo space on the regular Incheon > Anchorage route (UPS 99) to hold them all. Furthermore, some people have reported that their phones are being delivered by FedEx, and it's likely that some of these planes are holding Apple Retail stock as well, so those planes could be landing in cities other than Louisville in order to get stock to stores more efficiently.

So close I could smell it ;-)

so frustrating. My wife's phone will be here today but mine hasn't even shipped... Its still Preparing for Shipment.. I bet its on some rack that gets forgotten. I mean I ordered them 10 seconds apart.

Anyone else order at 3:03AM EST and is still waiting for it to be shipped?

Apple has the world's greatest logistics department. But they do keep "some rack" in the back room just to pick on a few unlucky customers! :)

I am just joking with you. Relax. Your phone will be here soon.

I did the same. Hopefully we'll be able to pick up our phones shortly after they arrive at the center, which is much better than waiting for delivery (which happens at my house around 7:30pm).

Finally moving! It's only 9:51PM in Korea, so I expect it to sit around in Korea for a couple more hours before it moves on to AK.

True, although the only FedEx ones I've seen so far were people who ordered directly from carriers rather than Apple, and the carriers are shipping from within the US.

My hats off to Apple & UPS. I honestly didn't think this was possible. Using DFW and not Alliance airport, holding the Denton trucks to after 7 a.m. when they normally get away around 6 a.m. Color me impressed.

Mine just got to South Korea. I guess just luck of whatever pallet your phone was on yesterday.

Anyone here use UPS premium? Is it worth the $40?

It's obvious that the 32gb gold vzw phone was absolutely the wrong phone to order. Even though it said 1-3 days, I haven't seen ANY ship yet. Mine is still preparing to ship too, and I was in at 12:02. This really stinks... No iphone this week, it appears. If they don't ship out tomorrow, it will be the first time I've ordered from apple.com where they don't meet their own conservative estimates. :(

Make that 4. I'm probably going to call up Apple later today to see what's up. It's frustrating that people who ordered at 3:10 are getting their phones today and tomorrow and ours haven't even shipped. I should've just ordered through Verizon.

Please.... gold 32gb vzw iphone.... Ship today or else I may fall into despair because my phone won't arrive this week. :(

Seriously thinking they may have forgotten to make this model. Hey, with dozens of different sku's to make, one was bound to be forgotten, no? I'm not bitter... :p

Make that 5...ordered a gold 32 gig vzw at 12:08 and am still sitting at 'Preparing for Shipment'. Kind of wonder what gives here?

I am with you guys. I called Apple yesterday and the rep pretty much read line for line my order status that we have access to.

Hey lets add one more to the list... my mom's, luckily she wasn't even going to set it up until I make it back home, but kind of annoying.

Cool, my 64 GB AT&T phone seems to be following the same path.

Yeah they ought to ship out around 11 EST!

Still stuck in preparing for shipping.
Ordered an unlocked tmobile 16GB gold on apple web site.
1-3 business day window with delivery dates Sept 30th-October 2nd
Received confirmation email at 2:05.
Payment went through on Saturday when status changed to preparing for shipment.
Am I the last one to have ordered before 2:05 and still not shipped?
I really want to get it shipped fast to receive before the weekend:(

I ordered one and received the confirmation email at 12:05 as well, so no you aren't alone. Seems they have shortages of specific types now. If mine ships tonight, I can still have it friday.

It looks like my plane had an issue.

It was previously scheduled for today delivery.
