Wow, amazing. After placing my order, the delivery estimate Apple gave me was between Sept 27th - Oct 1st. I would have been fine with any of those days but my phone is apparently out for delivery now, so I should be getting my phone two days earlier than I expected. How dare they treat me like a 1st class citizen! All joking aside, very pleasant surprise. Hope you all receive your phones soon too.

looks like you changed the destination address while it was in route(still in china). So the first place that thing is scanned(ky), it gets kicked out and has to be relabeled by hand with where ever you told them to send it.
Even if you are only putting a "hold at depot", it still gets kicked out because the destination change is considered an exception and requires a human. which also means that could make it miss the connection out in some cases

Former/current UPS/FeDEX employee? Great info. I called UPS and she said its on its way to Seattle but she doesn't know if its by plane, train, truck (I then inserted pigeon), or what not. And she had no updates on estimated delivery date even though it said tomorrow originally. It changed due to the address change.

Dammit!

I had two phones on that flight (out for delivery today!) and actually it departed at 8:54AM CDT. It is now 10:02AM CDT so over an hour later.

I hope it's just flightaware not getting updates from Korea.

The flight to Minneapolis from Louisville is one of the last so I should be ok, but a lot of people will have trouble if it is 2+ hours late getting into KSDF.

Hmm. I remember seeing a scan for 10:23 at about 10:30 eastern, then around noon the tracking had changed to 11:30, so I was assuming I was exactly 12 hours time difference. Anyway, best of luck to all the folks waiting to depart Korea. Hopefully things keep moving!

Now mine says Exception !!!! It went from Louisville to Bryan Texas??? My delivery is to nj what's going on????

They put it on the wrong flight/truck, and are likely going to deliver it tomorrow, or they mis-scanned.

Doesn't anyone else's say this

Pretty odd the scheduled delivery date hasn't changed, I really would be surprised if they fulfilled, tomorrow deff. though.

I just think its weird because it says "in transit" usually that means on a truck. I live in Seattle. I don't know that they would drive a truck from Louisville to Seattle right? Lol

Haven't you seen the UPS big rigs?

They just don't drive their regular delivery trucks that far.

They've got them and they move stuff very fast!

Mine hit Seattle this morning…and is already out for delivery a day early!

From what I know about tracking planes, (all of which I have learned in the last 2 days from this thread) it appears this is the return flight from Anchorage on its way to pick up our phones for Friday delivery...ammaright?

I don't think so. To date, they have all been MD-11s and this is a B747-400.

Could just be an equipment swap but it could also be that this isn't a turn operation. That the flight from Incheon to Anchorage uses an MD-11 that comes in from, say, Sydney.

I'll dig a little and see what I can find.

Oh man, me too. That kind of stuff fascinates me.

Rock Center with Brian Williams team did a 12-minute piece last year about how FedEx Domestic Overnight works. It's pretty amazing stuff.

While UPS is not perfect they do run a mind boggling operation. Every detail is figured out to maximize the operation

Gold 64 GB unlocked (I hope...) T-Mo Out For Deliver! (Silver version stuck in...

My gold 64 GB T-Mobile from Apple is out for delivery...one day earlier...I hope it's unlocked as promised on the website (at least when I ordered it). But for some reason, a silver version of the same phone is still in Louisville.

Don't get it...nothing to complain about.

You do realize that they pick up a day when they cross the dateline, right? For example, flights that leave at 12 noon today (Wed) in Beijing arrive San Fran at 10 AM also on Wed. Yes, based on local times, you arrive before you left ;)

Going the other direction is when you get screwed...

That would explain it lol

I don't understand the "missed a connection" thing. I ordered two iPhones - one also got held up and another is hours away from my hands. Both on the same plane.

Different shipping containers, one may of been held up for many reasons and missed the cutoff by just a bit.

My 16g silver left Louisville this morning at 3:39, arrived in Los Angeles at
4:57, out for delivery at 7:48. Originally scheduled for 9/26 delivery.

This flight has been a 744 for the past week so this is not the source of the aircraft used for flight 99. Of the flights the Incheon airport web site lists as UPS arrivals, of those that I can get any info on, only 11 and 98 are MD-11s. These don't go to Incheon directly. 98 for example goes to Narita outside Tokyo. It is shown as a "transit" arrival in Incheon so maybe they just reposition the plane from Narita to Incheon for flight 99 (makes sense at least from the flight numbering standpoint) but this is only a guess.

I have a feeling mine would've been on that same truck if I didn't change the address.

UPS updated my phone (finally) and shows its departure scan from incheon at 12:30 AM. That is an hour later than yesterday's departure scan.

Still not available on flighttracker.

Is anyone else here from CT? Whereabouts and how are your orders doing?

I am from CT and received mine yesterday. I was in the initial wave of orders that were shipped out over the weekend. I did not have expedited shipping and it still arrived as quickly as it could have. I am not sure when you ordered and where your phone is right now but once it hits Louisville you should get it that same day.

I have to admit that UPS is amazing. Knowing that my phone had just arrived on a flight from Korea to Anchorage along with thousands of others last night when I left work at 4:30pm, and arrived here at my office in Texas this morning at 10:20am is pretty amazing stuff when you think about it.

I put a "Hold at Will Call/Depot" in so I could just pick it up.

Should I cancel that (or is it too late)? Will that exception screw things up for getting it tomorrow? I guess I could put it back in early tomorrow morning when it's at my Depot. It's currently in Korea.

Thanks for any insight.
