Blah. Android phones are cool. They just are. iPhones are cool. They just are.

I say use the tool you prefer. I don't care for Android because I find it crude compared to iOS (see Google Voice on iPhone for a great illustration. Ugh.). But I have no problem with people who like Android. Different strokes for different folks.

What I do have a problem with is the amazing amount of noise coming from the more vocal Android proponents all over the Web. They never let you hear the end of it. Everywhere you go. "Android FTW!" "iPhone sucks!" "Apple cultists!" Blah, blah, blah. I'm not sure what they feel the need to prove.

Where are all the great Android apps? The native ones that showcase the beauty and power of the hardware?

They're all on Apple's App Store.

Keep flooding the market, Google. It'll work just fine until the iPhone proliferates in the US. Then it's off to bargain-bin status. Google's entire business model screams "we don't give a damn about the User Experience. All we want to do is license and push volume."

Both phones are great. The iPhone IMO is allot more secure due to apple strict requirements. Google's android OS has a crap load of security flaws right now. They don't police up real bad apps. There is no way I would do banking or anything that personal on my EVO but I would with an iPhone or a BB. Hopefully google can turn it around and tighten up the security. I enjoy using my EVO. Still don't know why the map program requires access to my contacts. Sorry but the iPhone IS one of the best out there at this time.

Aren't Mac fans (respect, bro :p ) doing the same to Windows aficionados since long? (Viruses, BSODs, blah) What goes around comes around.

Seriously though for a large number of people Android gave something to suit their tastes without having to submit to the control and without being trapped in the walled garden. It is unbelievable how much people hate just the idea of giving up control and living behind closed doors ( whether or not it actually applies - I will not start a flame war here).

When there's no iPhone on your carrier, you either settle for a touch-screen imitator or you get a dumbphone.

The iPhone fans like LTD will never be happy until every other smartphone platform is gone and everyone is forced to the iPhone. I know that is what you are hoping and praying for so everyone looks the same, but it is not going to happen.

I think the competition is good and Android isn't going anywhere even if the iPhone comes to more carriers in the US. I upgraded my Motorola Droid to a Droid 2 because I like having a physical keyboard. Android gives the consumer a large selection of different handset styles from different manufactures. Apple gives you one style. If you don't like it then your out of luck.

If Android phones were bad I don't think you would see Motorola having about the same level of customer satisfaction as Apple. That tells me that most people like their Android phones as much as iPhone customers like theirs.

Do Mac fans troll Windows user forums? I honestly don't know - I don't visit Windows user forums.

I do know that the amount of pro-Android hysteria I've seen (try the comments section of any Engadget smartphone story) far eclipses - in sheer volume - anything I've ever seen for any other platform war (Mac, Windows, Xbox, Ford v Chevy, etc.) Though I assume Microsoft will be spooling up the Windows Phone 7 astroturfing engine to Ludicrous Speed in the coming months. Should be entertaining.

I would buy the new iPhone if my carrier had it, alongside a good data plan. Apple needs to stop losing customers with these exclusivity deals.

Oh hell yes Apple fans do visit and flame competitor forums - just visit the Rovio forum post linked above somewhere - many iPhone fans there crying fragmentation.

I know why I choose apple, the user experience, i feel safe when I'm navigating the app store on my iPhone. Because I know a human being has check the app and not some random ******* posting an app on the android market to steal all my info. I prefer IOS's UI, in my opinion is leaps and bounds better then Androids. I like simplicity especially when i'm on a mobile device. And sorry android people but right know the app store has the best applications on smartphones. Also after hearing my friend complain about his battery life on his droid I think the iPhone manages multitasking a lot better.

What a total waste of time! Do they think Apple doesn't know this? Do they think they would care. I certainly don't care, do you?

This is obvious information and one doesn't need a comprehensive study to bet this, we all k ow this!

Wasting peoples time with more nonsense and dribble.

However that same article states the following "nese market researcher BCN says Samsung’s flagship smartphone dethroned the 32GB iPhone 4. However, add the 16GB iPhone 4 sales to sales of the 32GB device and Apple still held the lead."
An iPhone 4 sold is an iPhone 4 sold, shouldn't matter which HD size. iPhone is still king!

I know I for one would love to have an I-phone. But my distaste for ATT is greater then my desire for the phone, therefore I am left with one option, to buy a Droid or not.

I beleive if Apple had the I-phone on all the major carriers droid may never have gotten such a foothold. It is the I-phone look and feel that is attractive, at least to me, and the fact it is not ATT. I wonder how sales are at ATT for the Droid phone verse the I-phone. This is the trend I would suspect on any carrier that has the I-phone.

My phone just broke and I am trying to figure out whether to jump to Verizon because of I-phone rumors or stay with Sprint and go Droid.

Please just make the phone availible with all carriers. Then all consumers can make the decision about the phone independent of the carrier, or the carrier independant of the phone. The two should not go hand in hand.

Have you actually tried the AT&T network for yourself? That's really the key, if it sucks for you then it would make sense, but just because of stuff you read other people's experience means it will suck for you is a pretty weak reason for distaste. Of course, I am reading your post as though you haven't used AT&T's network based on your post.

I know a ton of people that would want an iPhone but can't get one because of their carrier.

Apple should move to other carriers as well if they can keep up with demand.

They aren't losing any customers as long as someone is waiting to buy the iphone you don't. The simple truth is that Apple doesn't need another carrier until they can make the phones faster than they can sell them on AT&T. Most of us are perfectly happy with AT&T and most of the people who switch are happy with AT&T. We get a huge subsidy from AT&T to buy the iphone - why mess that up for a few stubborn people?

Yes, that's true, but after they ramp up the production they have to lose some of their exclusivity deals. For many people it's just too big of a hassle to change a carrier just for a phone and they buy it from unofficial sources.

I used to think AT&T sucks...until I bought a mifi device through Verizon.

Now I'm convinced that all of these providers, much like cable television providers, are all horrible to their customers and offer shoddy service. What a money making scam these people run, and it looks like a little price fixing is going on (all of the major carriers seem to have identical pricing schemes).
