do they make a half a shield? For just the back? If so who makes.? I want a smart cover and a back shield

Unlimited sim is just a sim card from AT&T that give you unlimited 3G internet.
Now you cant have that plan just been for only two months. So they are really expensive cuz AT&T now is offering $25 for 2GB plus 10 bucks for 1GB anytime you pass your 2GB.

Good price for your iPad 2 :D

I got the unlimited plan and $400 just for the sim card is a good deal. When i need some extra bucks im going to sell it lol, with 2GB is enough for me in my work i got up to 15mbps wi fi and i got wi fi too in my house.

Yes. Half is $29.99 and full is $39.99. I really didn't want the full but after pondering it, I decided to go for it and do a full. I live in Salt Lake City, UT, the home of Zagg and got it applied at their corporate training center for $15. It's perfection. Also have a full shield applied by them on my MBP. People drive for hours to get these people to install ISs.

Wow, you're my hero. Why did you post this crap that nobody gives a ***** about. Do you just like reminding yourself how much money you have?

You cared enough to post a reply? How sweet! :)

I dunno about anyone here but $1400 really isn't a whole lot of money so I don't know why anyone would say you're gloating about your many monies. $1400 spent on a 64GB WiFi iPad 2 and some accessories? Not a bad deal...I would of gone a different route (MBA :D ) but that's me and not the OP.

I agree with you about the MBA, and I have stated twice, he really didn't pay very much more than retail. OP is just pounding his own chest.

giant lol at anyone who thinks (a) $1500 is a sign of money and (b) their assets are a strict function of hard work and choices (correlation doesn't equal causation and explains virtually nothing about the generation and distribution of wealth)

I can hardly breathe I'm laughing so hard; it's like something a child thinks lmao

I'm $1,490 in with my 64gig black AT&T 3g model. I find it hard to wait on stuff and just said f-it, I'm going to by what I want without waiting for months for an iPad 64gig 3G AT&T to actually ship.

So, here is my purchase experience as of 4 days ago...:

$1000 iPad
$40 grey smart cover
$400 unlimited SIM on eBay
$50 full invisible shield

Everything works great and I love it. No regrets at all. If you have the coin, I'd highly recommend just doing it and not looking back...

Discuss.

Congrats, I'm glad you are enjoying your iPad. I wouldn't have spent that much on it, but everyone has different priorities.

No pounding...guess I was just trying to illustrate how painless it is to buy locally on craigslist, etc, if you are willing to pay a small premium.

I actually had an order on apple.com, but the 4+ uncertain weeks on shipping made me reach a little deeper to find just over a $100 in my pocket to have it today (or 4 days ago).

YMMV, but I am not "OMG POUNDING CHEST" here. I'm just communicating on a thread like everyone else. If it's not for you, click back and enjoy.

Didn't want a MBA because I actually find the iPad apps useful and I fly for work every week. The portability is worth it to me.

Not at all. Transferred the account into my name/CC on the spot when I met the local seller. Made sure he showed me the account was unlimited and active before I transferred it into my name/CC. Easy and as long as I never let it lapse, it will be good to go forever.

My career will not be discussed, but let's say if you make the right choices in life and work hard it it, you will live a comfortable life. ;)

and comfortably overpay :)

Well said OP. Enjoy.

I would have done the same if I hadn't walked in to one on launch day. $1000 is a good price for a 64GB 3G... Enjoy!!!

400$ for unlimited internet was a rip off. The rest of it is a good price. But seriously 400 to me is ridiculous. You could have gone the 2GB route and then just payed for it twice the months you went over. I do not see 2GB staying the "normal" for very long. I really think you got ripped off on that. The iPad was the decent price. Also you should have went with ghost-armor for the same price. Unlimited on-site replacements for only 5$. Plus it is less tacky feeling, feels naked on the front and provides a little grip for the back.

Ok, I'll argue that an unlimited SIM is an investment. Let me explain:

People boast that Verizon is a better choice if you are a heavy data user because of it's 'scalable' iPad pricing plans. Hmm, maybe.

If you are a heavy user, or a user that doesn't want to worry if the next Netflix movie or Slingbox session will put them into the next data pricing bracket with either company, then an unlimited plan is for you. Nothing like knowing your monthly charge will be $29.99 forever, not a penny more, no matter what.

Sure, there are premiums on these plans. $400 is a lot, no doubt. I had a hard time justifying this purchase until I though about it logically...

AT&T has said they will not "turn off" these grandfathered plans. Just like they won't turn off iPhone unlimited plans like everyone is holding onto with death grips.

So, my thinking was this. $400. Ouch. But it's fully transferable and the unlimited data plan for the iPad is becoming more rare each day since it's no longer offered.

As a businessman, I can confidently say I can resell this very SIM in a year or two or three, for at LEAST what I paid for it....most likely more.

2gigs is neat, but I am the type of person who doesn't need to stress about my data plan as I'm watching TV via slingplayer in a hotel that charges $14.99 per night for an internet connection.

My POV. YMMV.

While I agree with your logic, it all hinges on at&t living up to this statement.

I picked up an unlimited sim for 200 tonight. You got hosed:p by the way, I agree with your life philosophy, especially if you have some kind of unique talent, life is good;). God I would shoot myself if I had to be a banker, lawyer or administrator of some kind :p

Does the TOS on the AT&T unlimited plan allow ownership transfers?
I haven't looked at it...but it seems to be a loophole and not an official process.

FULLY transferable. Not some sort of loophole or whatever...

Makes this little microSIM worth a lotta money. :D
