You forgot the 6 Plus has much better battery life, a 1080p screen, landscape modes for desktop, email and iMessage. The 6 and 6 Plus are not the same phone.

----------

That's your own theory. Not fact. If you're basing your theory on the amount of people who post here then you're cutting out the other millions that are enjoying their iPhone 6 Plus.

Let me put it like this ... They are both Apple's flagship phones... They are basically the same. The better battery life is there for the bigger screen.

My 6 battery life is phenomenal.

My point is either the 6 or the 6+ he won't be disappointed. I'm not going to start this Apple flagship vs Apple flagship thing it absolutely STUPID.

It's like the differences between the S5 and the note.

I certainly agree that we don't need to start a pissing contest but please post things that make sense because what you posted about the battery doesn't make sense.

If the bigger battery on the 6 Plus was there for the bigger screen then it would offer the same results as the battery in the 4.6" iPhone 6. It doesn't. The 6 Plus's battery life is far longer than the smaller iPhone 6's battery. That's an actual feature of the 6 Plus.

First it's 4.7"
Second yes I should have completed my sentence. The bigger battery is there to help SUPPORT the bigger screen. I do know the 6plus gets better battery life. Just as the Note 3 gets better battery life than the S4 and I'm sure the Note 4 will have better battery life than the S5.

I get sick of this my phone is better then your phone crap. The fact is Apple released two flagships fora reason. Neither is the only flagship. Such as last year the 5s was the flagship the 5c was mid-tiered.

Both of these phones are GREAT. Both have there faults. So be it. When I got my phone I thought I was getting the 6+ I held it ... NOPE!! I'll take the 6!! It's called CHOICE!

I played with the plus in the Apple Store and held it. I tried to like it but I just felt it wasn't for me. A lot of people were coming in the Apple Store when I was there and were picking up the plus and their first response was no way or way too big. Other people liked the plus when they picked it up. I agree both have their +/- but it simply comes down to choice. I couldn't even exchange the 6 for a plus if I wanted without paying a 50.00 restocking fee. I'm ticked Apple didn't put 1080p on the 6 in addition to the plus. My only guess why they didn't is because then more might buy the 6 over the plus?

I can totally see why people love the 6 plus, myself I was quite impressed with it when I played with it at the Apple store. However I can see problems coming up down the road when future iOS upgrades come out, as well as apps that intend to push the hardware of the iPhone 6. Being that the native resolution of the plus is 2208*1242, this will be a huge issue. Why Apple didn't use a screen with that resolution is beyond me, as performance could have been better because downscaling wouldn't be an issue. Even though the iPhone 6 has a screen (1334*750) inferior to the plus, I believe it'll be the phone to get if you want something to last you in the long run, as it has under half the pixels to push. You can deny this claim as much as you want, actually I encourage you to try, but as many other people and reviewers have noted, this could end up much like the situation with the iPad 3, severely crippled by its underpowered GPU. I do believe there is some room for improvement on the software side of things, as the iPads have similar GPUs and more pixels to push, but nevertheless, performance will never be anywhere near the same as the iPhone 6.

If you don't understand why they did it this way then I'm guessing you haven't been an Apple user since yesteryear? Apple treats one model out of a particular line as a Flagship. That model will have all the functions or special features. Been that way with the Mac, iPod, iPad and iPhones.

The 6 is a great device. The 6 + is a great device. Which ever direction the OP goes, it stands to reason that he will be happy.

Enjoy your device!

There's an actually sane person on MacRumors... Shh! Don't always let that out!!

Lol

Yes most years it is true. This year it is not. There are 2 flagships this year as confirmed by Apple.

The iPhone 6 is the immediate successor to the 5s. The iPhone 6+ is them trying to start a different product line. Yes I did call Apple and ask this question. Sorry that you HAVE to DOWN THE phone you don't have every chance you get.

This is not last year with the 5s and 5c

+1 on moving from iPhone 6 plus to reg 6

I agree there will be many more returns of the 6+. I also see Apple eventually starting to charge for returns, $50 or so. So many people are doing this trial run with 6+'s.

I am really getting comfortable with my 6, but I have been tinkering with the idea of the 6+.

14 days to return. I don't see how they could implement that $50 policy. If they charge 50 for exchange then just return the plus and buy a new 6

Isn't the 6+ Display 1920x1080?

Does anyone knows what so the rate of sale for the 6 vs the 6+?

I wonder how the Apps are handling the different screen sizes? Can anyone explain about this, thanks!

let me start off by saying the iphone 6 plus is an amazing phone. After using it for a week i can say it has been a pleasure. But i came to my senses and decided it is just to big for normal every day use. It works like a beautiful charm when i am home sitting on my couch etc, but when i am in my car or out somewhere it is just not feasible. I cant really use it while i drive (i know i'm not suppose to use it while i drive but come on who doesn't) it doesn't fit anywhere in my car, to much bulk in my pocket when i am walking around, and overall its just to big of a phone. I cannot picture my self going to a wedding or some kind of formal event where tight pants are a requirement and not being able to put this in a pocket. It really is a problem looking 2 years down the road.

I love this phone but in reality the 6 is just more realistic. I sure am glad i got to use it for a week and test it out as opposed to doing it the other way around and buying a 6 so i have no regrets.

So let me get to the point of the post.

Since i received mine on launch day i get 14 days to return correct? Also since i used my upgrade on it i can still return it and purchase a 6 for upgrade price?

I have seen a lot of the same threads of people returning it to get a normal 6 and i said to my self there is no way in hell i can return the god phone (yes it pretty much is the closest thing to what i think god would use)...but like i said i came to my senses.

I will make a bold prediction here. Alot of people will end up exchanging the plus. Probably more than apple or anyone would have thought.

Anyways......iphone 6 / plus is by far the greatest phone ever created.....ios is however will not get the same praise from me. After using the plus for a week there are alot of issues and bugs they need to sort out. I can make a huge list and i hope apple fixes them all i just don't understand why they would release a new ios that clearly is not ready for public release.

And after week of using the phone two concerns i have and i have no idea if this has anything to do with the 1gb of ram every one was crying about.

1 when listening to music in land scape mode or in normal mode once you click home button and open the music app again it goes to the top of your music list as opposed to where you last left off.

2 scrolling through different menus in land scape mode ( setting or text message lists) when you click on didfferent items there is a huge lag. Its not crisp and swift as it should be. For instance in you are in text message in landscap and clik on different conversations the highlight blue lags and is behind the actual finger clik.

3 obviously the web site in safari have to reload. At first i thought it was not going to be a big deal and people complained about non sense but after using the phone and expecting great performance i am disappointed.

So if 2 gigs of rams would have remedied these 3 examples then apple failed us. How can they have prototypes out for testing and not address these things? In no way am i some kind of techy hacker i am just a regular user who noticed these deficiencies and think to my self if a company has xxx amount of these in the wild being tested by employees then why did they ok the release when these things do not work the way they are intended to? Is it a hard ware issue or a software issue or both?

Anyways great phone probably the best ever made, and i am sure i will love the 6 as much as i have enjoyed my one week with the plus.

tl;dr
this phone is too big for op.

I LOVE my 6+!!! The games are awesome. I take public transportation to go to work so I watch Netflix and download movies. I use meditation apps, read kindle books, listen to audiobooks, do Facebook, Pinterest, you name it! And of course, I talk, using a headset.

It is protected with a Griffin survivor case and I put it in my kangaroo pouch when not using.

The only issue I get is the screen freezing on occasions.

To each his own. At least now, Apple is offering choices. But I'm keeping my baby!

I know, right?? I don't get the fuzz about one handed usage since it is basically my hand now xDD :apple:

iPhone 6 scales at 1334x750 while iPhone 6 Plus internally scales at 2208x1242 and then scales it down to 1080p. It doesn't make that much of a difference but is more performance hungry since apps that are not optimized will be upscaled and then downscaled again. What is the upside? 1080p panels are cheaper and readily available so Apple can make more 6 Plus phones and developers get a more convenient 3x resolution.

So are app devs able to optimize apps so they aren't scaled at 2208*1242, rather at 1080? From what I've been hearing EVERYTHING on the 6 plus is rendered at 2208*1242, including 1080p video playback, which is upscaled then downscaled back to 1080. It would be awesome if this could be fixed in a system update, but sadly I don't think anything will/can be done about it by Apple. I read through this and think its pretty informative https://medium.com/@brucewangsg/the-curious-case-of-iphone-6-1080p-display-b33dac5bbcb6

Please don't text and drive - you are going to kill someone.

Everything is internally scaled at 2208x1242. Developers can better estimate the form factor since it is exactly 3x the pt dimensions (pt is a size unit relative to screen size). No developer has to think of the 1080p scaling, they just act as if the iPhone was a 1242p device, and - just as we know it from Apple - iPhone takes care of the rest.

Is every person who switches from 6+ to 6, or a 6 to a 6+ going to make THEIR OWN THREAD about it? You people act like we give a crap what you do. You think youre a celebrity or something? NO ONE CARES.

Always nice to see users treating the MR forum as their own personal blog.

/sarcasm

It's a forum for people to talk about iPhones -- including, perhaps, their own experiences with them. I don't really see the problem.
