This is my first day, and my battery life seems ok, but not nearly as good as yours.

I have the brightness to max, which may be part of the issue, and I'm messing with it a bit since it's new.

It's been off the charger since 5:15 am and it's now 3 pm (so basically ten hours) and I'm at 58% battery remaining. So, I'll get over 20 hours at this pace which is great, but how did you go that long and still have 48%? wow.

Mine's a SS 42mm.

Yeah I'm surprised he got 48% too. Love the watch too. The only problem I'm having is that if I have it on 3G instead of wifi, I don't get third-party app notifications.

Saturday I took off the charger late in the day around 10am, at the end of the night I was still at over 60% so I left off the charger Saturday night to allow to drain more (Every night Ive been placing back on the charger at over 60% pretty much, so woke up Sunday morning and I was down to 54% and wore all day Sunday and when I placed on the charger last night, was around 21%, so not to shabby at all.

There is no way the voice to text is "flawless". Oh it gets my words correct, but 50% of the time I talk it to it and nothing happens. I have to hit "cancel" and maybe it will work, maybe it won't. When it does actually dictate the text it is the correct words.

I've been amazed at how quickly I've adapted to a new way of thinking around notifications.

Oh I have a WhatsApp message, oh that doesn't look so important right now - dismiss.

Email into my google inbox, glance no action - done.

I've quickly realised how so many notifications just become an excuse to start using your phone for other things. And the nice thing is the iPhone still gives you a visual reminder that you've not DEALT with something by the number badge, so I know I need to look at that whatsapp message when I actually next pick up my phone.

This! Notifications on the phone were always a temptation for me to dink around on my phone. This helps quell that.

Luckily I have had no issues when I have used it to send voice texts :)

I have also found this watch to be infinitely useful. The day I got it (last Friday) kicked off a very busy weekend of visiting friends and family and generally just running around a lot, and the Watch made all of those activities so much smoother and easier just because I didn't have to constantly fumble around with my phone. I used it in the car to play music and I used it a few times to check Twitter--that was about it.

I found it funny at one point when I was sitting there with my family--out of the group of about 8 people I was with, at one point 4 of them were staring at their phones. Pre-Watch I might have been the 5th, but I was just dealing with and then dismissing texts and other things on my Watch and moving on, while they were all getting sucked into their phones.

Count me another very happy customer. After almost a week I'm still discovering new ways it can make tasks quicker and easier. Sure, I was able to do all the same stuff other ways pre-watch but having so much info and so many handy tools on my wrist, always there and available, is just really nice.

Siri has been working great so I'm getting in the habit of dictating more often vs switching to my phone to enter a new to do, appointment, or whatever. That means I can tuck my 6+ into my briefcase and leave it there until I have a block of time to read or browse.

As for battery life, I did drain it the first couple days because I was playing with the watch so much. The last 3-4 days have been more normal use and I have plenty of juice left. If I work out (which means playing music and tracking heart rate) it goes down a bit more but in general I have 30-40% left at the end of the day.

Edited to add: I have the SG 38mm, if anyone is keeping track of battery life reports by watch size

I absolutely agree. And it's only going to get better as third party apps tweak accordingly and new, useful apps pop up (I am really hoping for dropcam live feed on my watch....not sure when or if, but that would be stellar). Just using the basic functions alone, I'm thoroughly pleased. I absolutely love the activity tracker. Haven't used my Jawbone since (in fact, my Jawbone decided to stop syncing after about three days of AW usage....not sure why).

Finally a positive thread and not a thread about someone moaning about "the watch is not worth it" or "I'm a slave to the watch" loll

On day one I forgot to end my workout and my battery died at 3:30pm from my 6:30Am workout. Lol but that's the only time I needed to charge my watch at work. Learned my lesson quick!

Count me in as loving mine also. I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I do.

I got a call in a meeting recently and loved that I could silence it by just placing my hand over the watch face. And I've loved getting texts on my phone, getting voice mails, etc. The dictation to respond to texts is super useful.

What about if the iPhone is in silence mode?
The Apple Watch vibrates to advise a call is incoming?

For what i've read Apple Watch always vibrates (never sounds) to send notifications?

My sincere compliments to all of you happy AW owners

I had a call come to my phone earlier and my phone was on silent mode but my watch still rang, so once I covered the face I went ahead and set my watch to silent (Forgot to do that when I got to work this morning lol)

I keep my phone on silent with vibration turned on, so my phone just vibrates when I get a call. With the watch, the phone vibrates and the watch gives haptic taps (I keep the watch in silent mode also). Calls are the only notification that "rings" both my watch and my phone - I'm not sure if this is configurable in settings or not. When I cover the watch face, both the phone and the watch go silent (or in my case, stop vibrating/tapping).

I suspect that if you had your phone's sound and vibration turned off, you would still get the haptic tapping on your wrist when a call comes in, but I'm not sure. I may have to try it out.

The watch will make sounds for notifications - you can choose for it to do that or not.

Having had it now for a few days I too see the benefit. It's not as dramatic as say having the Internet at your fingertips say the way it was the first time using an iPhone, but it does what one person mentioned very well (paraphrasing):

In short, it's a timepiece first, and judged on that it is very good. What it does well is tell you when you need to pick up your phone and when you don't, saving you time and making the time you have more effective. This is the hidden secret of the Apple Watch that so many reviewers miss, judging it as a ersatz iPhone which it is not. It is an extension and refinement to the iPhone experience. And when the Internet of Things gets really rolling, things like starting cars, opening hotel rooms and using it as an ID, controlling your house and more will all be done more naturally with a wearable, particularly a watch. Remote working will also benefit in ways not yet imagined I suspect not to mention the world of health applications and so forth.

On a personal note, I am now surprised how much less I pick up my phone, and how much more efficient with time it then makes my day.
