Hi

Prior to 10.13.6, I could wake from sleep almost instantly, since 10.13.6, it takes about 7-10 secs to wake.

I thought it might just be the new update sorting things out in the background at first but not noticed it before with past updates.

iMac late 2013 with SSD.

Anyone else noticed slow wake?

Thanks

Yeah, me too, late 2015 5K SSD. More than 10 seconds--I have to hit the keyboard a second or third time to rouse the iMac from sleep.

Yes, I have this. It causes difficulties when starting Apple TV as well. ATV now comes up with an error message before computer wakens up.

I would investigate whether the new OS has reset from Suspend (sleep only) to Hibernate (writes to HD and restore).

Run Etrecheck and see the results, equally possible you have some incompatible daemon of launch item causing it.

Jeez - In the scheme of things - SEVEN seconds Unknown.jpeg

Same, Early 2011 17” MacBook Pro. Unfortunately, this will be a forever problem since development is pretty much done on High Sierra and my laptop doesn’t qualify for Mohave.

Havent messed w HS since early few versions, but it always felt more sluggish than Sierra on my 2016 13"

in boot up, wake times, and safari beach ball frequency. ymmv

If I tap the keyboard or trackpad (BT) the computer starts whirring immediately but the screen takes about 7 seconds to come on. If I press the power button the screen and computer come on immediately.
