Wireless worse than ever!!

CRAP!!! Now the wireless issue I was having is worse than ever!!

My wireless throughput speed keeps dropping to zero when downloading a file. It peaks for about 2 sec, drops to zero for 2 sec, peaks for 2 sec, etc. etc. etc. This happens for both uploading and downloading.

I used to be able to use my MacBook for about 30min before the problem would occur but now it happens as soon as I turn it on.

I'm gonna try a fresh install to see if it fixes the problem. If not I'm gonna turf the MacBook and buy something else. It's been a problem for about a year or so.

Cheers.

Stop making stuff up FANBOYS and get away from Steve Jobs Reality Distortion Field. It's baking your brains.

THERE IS NO WAY TO SINGLE CLICK A FOLDER IN THE DOCK AND HAVE THE FOLDER OPEN AS A FOLDER.

Sure, you can open it as a stack, fan, grid, or list, BUT NOT JUST AS A FOLDER! You have to click in TWO places to simply open a damn folder!

Ridiculous and very Windows like. This is a simple fix. Just do it Apple.

And I've used Apple computers since 1982, so please don't even go there on my alleged love of Windows, NOT!

DUH!

DOCK DOCK DOCK DOCK!!!!

FIX THE DOCK APPLE!!!!

There is STILL no way to SINGLE-CLICK a FOLDER in the DOCK and have it just, ummmmm, OPEN!!!! DUH!!!!

To have to do 2 clicks just to open a folder in the dock is SOOOOO WINDOWS!

Also, Safari STILL fails to block many pop-up windows.

Most accurate username on the forum.

For some reason I've never found that to be an issue.

DUH!

Just create an alias of the folder ( command L) and drag the alias into the dock.

Its not perfect, but you can press CMD+Click.

With the column view, it acts as if you're viewing where the folder is, but unfortunately its not the same in other views.

CMD-Click does NOT open the FOLDER! Next.....

Do people here even try stuff before shooting their mouths off???

Just create an alias of the folder ( command L) and drag the alias into the dock.

And THAT removes all of the OTHER options to view the folder in case you might want to view a folder in different ways for different purposes!

Not to mention it's just a clunky windows-like workaround solution.

MADDENING!

I just refuse to re-arrange the way I've organized my ENTIRE BUSINESS just because of an Apple GUI whim that has been lambasted by practically the entire Mac community since Day 1 of Leopard's release!

Ugggghhhhh!

I installed it. When it finished, I tried to log in. My mouse can only move the cursor, clicking doesn't work. I logged in using the keyboard, and it went to the default Leopard background with two popups saying something CS3 and controllermate quit unexpectedly. I pressed enter on both of them to relaunch, the windows just went away and it stayed on the leopard wallpaper. Now every time I restart, it hangs on the blue screen for a couple minutes, then does the same thing except no CS3 popup and I can't use the keyboard. What now?

What an update! At this rate, 200+ fixes an update, Leopard should be flawless by the next release. (I currently have no problems, but other people do )

How come some peoples' update is 420 MB, and other peoples' update is 198 MB? Why is the size different? Does it have to due with whether it's intel or PPC, or what gen the mac is or something?

Also, what's the difference between just downloading this, or the 'combo update'?

Do you know what else is maddening? Seriously! Do you even try stuff before shooting your mouth off? It works fine for me...

198MB and 7 minutes to download.

I'm on a 17" MBP 2.4ghz, 4GB RAM running 10.5.2.

I guess we will see what happens next after installing.

Sure, you can open it as a stack, fan, grid, or list, BUT NOT JUST AS A FOLDER! You have to click in TWO places to simply open a damn folder! And yes, this is important because I have folders with HUNDREDS of links and files in them organized in the manner I require. None of the other options are useful with folders with hundreds of files.

Why remove a feature from TIGER? It just makes no sense.

DUH!

You're definitely not representative of the Mac community. Your attitude and insults are disappointing.

If the operating system doesn't give you the behavior that you want, there's plenty of free and cheap add-ons.

Funny, I just tried it and guess what, it works.

Why would you lie to everyone repeatedly?

Clearly that is NOT true.

That opens the place WHERE the folder IS. Different.

And as for my thoughts not being representative of the Mac community, once again wrong.

The only reason Apple changed the dock since 10.5 is because of public outcry from people like me.
Otherwise, you wouldn't even have the options you have now.

If ever there was a constructive criticism that just screams, DUH, this is it!

just woke up and saw a 20 page thread on 10.5.3! DAMN!

i will have to download this next week as my broadband is at dialup speeds right now becuase i went over the 12 gig limit again… and YES i envy all you guys with your uncapped broadband! :( … anyways HOORAY! 10.5.3 is out :)

Hyperboy needs to calm down, but he's right about cmd-click -- it opens the folder containing the folder on the dock, not the folder itself.

I guess a fix would be to create a folder in the folder you want to open and place the newly -created folder in the dock. You could even give it the name of the parent. cmd-clicking that folder would open the parent folder.

At 198-536 MB, it'd be nice if Apple gave the option to send out CD's for those of us on 1.5 MBit DSL.

It took exactly 30 minutes to download the Combo update on my 3.0 Mbps DSL connection. I've applied the 10.5.3 update to 2 iMacs here so far and everything is working perfectly fine on both machines.
