I wonder if this update will unify the (macbook in my case) driver base. I want to swap my 2006 macbook hd into my new unibody macbook without driver issues.
This is the first update that didn't work for me. It hang during "Configuring your installation" after hitting restart when downloading is complete.

I can still to mathematics in spotlight.
Also, I gained about 2% of disk space after installing the update - woo!
I wonder what delayed it over the weekend, or are they just teasing the rumourmill? I have to admit if I had control over these things I would release things on different days to the rumours.
Its probably a good thing that I don't run a large company!
UPDATE:
I did a restart using the power key after almost 2 hours of waiting at the "Configuring Installation" screen and it restarted into OSX fine. It was a partial download on my early '08 MBP. I'm downloading the combo update now and will fix permissions afterward. I'll keep ya posted.
Thanks for everyone input.
I always use the combo update for these OS updates.![]()
Why?
"The 10.5.6 Update is recommended for all users . . . "
Are any of their updates NOT recommended for all users?![]()
Swiss German. Is your Mac set to German?![]()
Yes and no. In Germany, the comma is the official decimal point. Nontheless, in coding, of course, the period is used the same way as everywhere in the world. But even if you switched to the americal keyboard layout, the country-dependant preferences did not switch. But in Switzerland, the country-preferences actually define the period . as the decimal point but it has been converted to a comma , by the Calculator which resulted in truncation or error. So there surely was some (small) bug in the software, not just a preference problem. This may be somehow caused by the fact that in the german language not points but commas are used to mark post-decimal positions.
I would love to know more about this one. How would a language issue affect calculator accuracy?
Install SmartSleep, choose "sleep only", then hit [remove sleepimage]. Afterwards set it to "sleep and hibernate" (OS X default) or "smart sleep" (hibernate only when battery < 20%).BUT now, my PB don't want to wake up after sleep... ... ...
(thats no good)
I am still having the same airport problem where it takes forever to connect after a reboot or waking up from sleep. I did not have this problem with Tiger or the earlier versions or Leopard. Is anyone still seeing this problem?
I hope it is fixed when Snow Leopard comes out.
