Looks like just more rumors of a 10.5.7 release today.. Does anyone actually have any real idea as to when this is going to be released? I can't believe it has been so long.

What do you folks think is more likely:

1) That Apple will release 10.5.7 tomorrow (Friday)?
-or-
2) We'll have to keep waiting a few more weeks?

What is your reason for your opinion on this matter?

Thanks for any feedback. :)

Apple will release 10.5.7 wednesday (4/29) or sooner (maybe tonight). The reason I suspect is because they have started shipping out the Mac Pro Radeon 4870 Graphics card kits (some which are going to be delivered tomorrow), which requires 10.5.7 because drivers for the 4870 are included in the 10.5.7 release.

I'm hoping for 10.5.7 today... I really hope they optimized the video drivers more. Please please please come today! Is the Radeon 4870 really *THAT* good?

I had it on my desktop before I sold it (the desktop itself, not just the card). It's definitely good and if you're into games you're pretty much set to run any game but Crysis on max settings and very high resolutions. But it's not the best card any more. There's about 2 levels ontop of it

i am hoping it would be out sooner too.. but obviously everyone's prediction is wrong about the update.. :p

The radeon hd4870 have started to arrive and 10.5.7 is a requirement so I think it will be released by the morning.

I look it up an 10.5.7 is not a requirement but there are reports that the cards dont work well on 10.5.6

Then it will go live... NEVER!

That sounds more like it..

But really, I'm hoping it comes out before the end of this week..

Maybe if we all keep saying "I hope it comes today!", one day we'll eventually be right...

/sarcasm

hopefully it solves the problem with system freezing up with no legit reason. (I dont consider opening firefox or safari, and just staying there for a while as a legit reason)
