What else are they supposed to do with the surplus of inventory? Throw it in the landfill?
They're supposed to use their software update roadmap to decide to change the low-end model for one that'll get updates for longer, before they produce the surplus of inventory you're claiming exists. So for example, in mid-2021 they decide that at that year's Apple Watch reveal the Series 3 is getting replaced by a reintroduction of the Series 4 so that it'll still be a supported product while it's for sale.

Um, what are they going to do to the Mac mini? Make it 1mm thinner and use a white plastic logo instead of black? It’s idiotic that people would be calling for a refresh and a high spec Mac mini when they just released the Mac Studio. Do people not understand the concept of thermals?

The Apple product I'm looking forward to is the next AirPods Pro. Let's see if the upgraded wireless chip now supports U1 functionality for Apple Lossless playback through ultra wideband (UWB).

Considering that the "high-end" Intel Mac Mini is still for sale, I think there is something coming. Otherwise I wouldn't be surprised to see the Intel Mac Mini already discontinued.

I'm not sure exactly what or when, but perhaps there is room between the existing Mac Mini and Mac Studio.

Also, don't purchase any type of AR/VR reality headset since Apple may announce it next year.

Nah.

the apple headset is going to be several thousand dollars, a quest 2 is a few hundred and has a huge existing software library.

not the same.

Still on the original 2016 iPhone SE and absolutely fine with what it can do. The camera sucks and I’m on the third battery, but otherwise, totally fine.
I have given up hope for a return of the headphone jack, but was confident Apple would continue to sell a small handset. I don’t want a tablet, I have an iPad mini for that, the phone needs to be small and fit in a front jeans pocket without locking my leg in place.

Just looking forward to see what Apple will do for the Mac Mini, love to see a big challenge.

Watch out for Microsoft’s new Project Volterra.

Up until now, a new Mac Pro has been an over priced computer that is obsolete by the time you take it home and plug it. Allmost zero resale value.
A great device if you want an expensive door stop. Hopefully Apple silicon changes that.

I'm glad I bought the iPhone 13 mini as I like the small factor and really don't understand the bad rap that its getting. The battery life isn't that bad and don't want a larger phone.

iMac

The 24-inch iMac with the M1 is starting to show its age. Multiple reports that I've pulled out of thin air about Apple's plans for a larger display M2 iMac indicate that Apple is working on releasing this newer iMac as soon as all the suckers early-adopters have blown their cash on the overpriced Mac Studio and Display. The new model will feature a redesigned case with no chin and come in three colors: light black, medium black and dark black. In a first for an iMac, Apple will have the display glass and LCD fold down on a hinge to make it easy to access the insides and update the RAM and storage. In order to facilitate this it will also include new modular connectors for the SoC and for a new GPU on a chip that can both be easily replaced with newer faster variants as technology evolves. Rumors have the display as 8K and all of this will come with a price tag that will be vastly overinflated and make the Mac Studio/Display look positively cheap in comparison.

I'd love a 30" iMac to sit next to my 2015 Retina iMac 27". But perhaps the smart choice is just to buy a second refurbished iMac? The Studio Display is too small. The 27" 5K LG doesn't seem value. The LG dualup has appealling aspect ration but uninspiring display specs. I have wanted more pixels for 35 years, since I was programming on a 10" ambert CRT and envied a colleagues 12" VGA monitor. It's clear that "more pixels" is a niche requirement...

Clicked to check for any new intel on the iMac (fingers crossed for something a little bigger than 24in).
I guess since I’ve waited this long, one more week isn’t going to hurt anything.
In fact… if anyone is in the market for anything… 7 days isn’t that bad of a wait.

I don’t want an OLED iPad because I’m not sure how my eyes will adapt. AFAIK this could be
the last hardware refresh without OLED.

Good thought. I have had an iPad Pro 12.9 2018 for years, no problems reading or watching on it for hours. Tried an iPad Pro 12.9 2020 for a week, it resulted in terrible eye ache migraines. Seems a bit better with Pro Motion turned off and Night Vision turned on (to lower the white point).
