The C2 modem better actually work. I had the air for a short period and the reception was total ass on it. Even Apple had issues with it in the store so I got rid of the Air

I am looking at iPhone 19 Max Pro or iPhone 20 Max Pro. I do not see any major difference at all in the overall design compared to my iPhone 15 Pro Max. The camera plateau is not really design change.

The most important thing to me is the camera. The Samsung sensors should be a game changer.

I read somewhere that the aluminum is soft on the 17. I hope they change the alloy or at least heat treat / age it better. Remember the 6 and 6s.

Why bother with a device that doesn’t satisfy you anymore and wait a whole year?
Buy it and resell it afterwards!

It gets thrown in a case within the first 5 minutes of ownership, I only know my 15 Pro is blue when I take the case off the clean it.
Yeah, and then you can see that stupid blue or silver shade every day around the edges of the screen. No thank you

An update from Apple PR:

The iPhone 18 Pro has been locked-in for months and is old news. It’s time to get stoked for the ALL NEW iPhone 19 Pro. It is the BEST, MOST POWERFUL iPhone that Apple has ever released. It truly is the the iPhone for ultra pros. Apple can’t wait to see the incredible things customers are able to do with the game-changing features of the ALL NEW iPhone 19 Pro. Apple thinks you’re gonna love it.

Oh, and one more thing: With the iPhone 19 Pro, Apple has truly taken the front camera to a whole new level. For the first time ever, iPhone 19 Pro features the best-in-class front camera under the screen. Now, customers have full screen access. This changes everything, all over again.
Apple PR hasn't been told that the company is skipping the 19? And going to the iPhone 20... Seems like a huge oversight by a PR department

I've had mine for a month and a half with no reception issues. Far as I can tell (no actuall testing involved) it's preforming as well as my previous 15PM.

After Thanksgiving I'll be in the PA mountains. If it preforms as will as my 15 did there, I'll be more than satisfied. Testing I've seen shows the C1X in the air holding onto single really well in low signal area's. Maybe you had a dud.

And reason number 11:

It will make the refurb iPhone 17 Pro's cheaper so you can yet one for less and it'll last 3 or 4 years.

Interesting rumored color choices.

I'd probably go for purple (since I am Gengar, after all).

The modem is the biggest upgrade on that list. I have been very happy with the Apple modem in the Air, noticeably better cellular reception than my previous 16 Pro and prior phones.

I agree. I got the iPhone Air last Friday, and the C1X has great performance. I got like 1200 Mbps down on T-Mobile in the middle of nowhere with the Air in an area where my 17 Pro Max tops out at around 900 Mbps.

Tech is always evolving and you should always wait for the latest and greatest to be released next year…
Gee, buy what you need when you need it …

Life is short. If you want the upgrade, get the current phone now and enjoy it.

I personally wish that Apple and other phone manufacturers would switch to a biennial release schedule. I understand why they came out yearly in the early days, but at this point, it just doesn't make sense anymore. The product has matured. These phones are very good now. We don't need new models every year. It's also a waste of resources.

I'm still on the original iPhone model because I keep reading "wait until next year for these features" articles and I don't know how to get out of this loop.

Oh, no, Apple isn’t skipping the iPhone 19. The 20th anniversary iPhone will be the iPhone XX Ultra and iPhone XX Ultra Max, the future of iPhones for the next decade! Stay tuned.

Checked out the 17PM’s but decided my 14PM is still a better looking device. Takes great photos, newish battery on 98% health and it’s in an Apple clear case with screen protector so body and screen are still as new. I might keep until it drops off the iOS supported devices list.
