First of all I have Windows. Have have tried all the versions and i have no trouble getting tethering to work, but it screws up the VVM. I've tried the *5005* and that doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone have a real fix for bringing back VVM other than deleting the profile? Otherwise I guess I'll do what someone else said: use the profile when i want to tether and then delete it.

Did you try clicking this LINK from your phone? I did not have to muck around on the computer at all. VVM works no problem.

Ok heres how you fix your voice mail-
1. Connect the phone to itunes and option click restore
2. Navigate to your user name->Library->iTunes->iPhone Carrier Support
3. Select the file contained within "iPhone Carrier Support" and proceed
You now have your voicemail working again"

6) took out sim and put it back in while restarting the phone.

Theese Instructions are AT&T only! and is what worked for me. I'm pretty sure it will work for you Brian.
Uhh, an easier way is to just change the visual voicemail apn from wap.cingular to acds.voicemail
