I know it's early but I'm really eager to get my SE back on 11, so if anyone has noticed if the battery or performance has gotten better on any devices, please report here!

Edit: I've updated. My experience w/ my SE is logged later in this thread btw.

In a few days and charging cycles we'll have some idea.

I know, but this is just in general and early thoughts.

Honestly, you probably don't want early thoughts. Until someone has used it for a day or two, their impressions will not be based in fact. I have had the update for a few hours now, and my 8+ battery level is still very high. I have no way of knowing if this is better/worse than 11.0.

This has been out, what, a couple of hours, and you think anyone could give you any meaningful advice? Download, install and test on your device. User reports here are so divergent, even random, when it comes to battery life that your experience could wind up being completely different anyway.

Ok, here you go. There is absolutely no, none, ZERO, change in battery life going from 11.0 to 11.0.1.

That's based on 156.789 minutes of use.

I have a SE and it’s just great now. Went back to 10 a few days ago because of battery drain.

Installed 11.1 today and used my phone a lot. Use time in stats is 2 hrs 16 minutes and this took 20% battery. I started with 100% battery.

Makes 10hrs use time estimated, about 3 hrs more than under 10.

But i mainly used safari and twitter for testing in these two hours.

Thanks for the info. I know it's a little early and other posts have expressed that but this is a longterm thread too, not just for today...

I’ll post what I posted a few hours ago in the 11.0.1 thread. Still holds true 4 hours post-update.

Thanks for the info! Out of temptation, I re-installed 11 on my SE (this time with 0.1, of course), and it feels much snappier on the charger. I’ll report on battery after my first charge cycle.

Don’t need a few days in my case. Something is still keeping my iP7 awake. Updated and rebooted two hours ago. Fully charged and closed all apps which is something I never do, sat there unused the whole time. Showing 1:45 standby and 1:45 usage. There is no usage.

First time since iOS 3 I’m seeing battery drain after an update. Luck runs out eventually I guess as every update there were always battery drain complaint, and I always thought I was lucky.

For me, the animation still stutters on iPad Pro 9.7" the same way as the 11...

Completely normal, its indexing. Give it time. Charge it back up to 100% and leave it untouched, usage and standby will most likely be different now.

It was a massive update. 300MB is X.x size updates, not X.x.1.

That just shows that in your particular case there's something either stuck or going on after the install. That's exactly why a few days and charging cycles are needed in order to avoid making some sort of general calls based on just isolated anecdotal experiences where some people might have an issue here or there, especially right after an install, for example.

That shouldn't happen. There's no way it has to do with the GPU right? The A9X is still a beast. It must still be Apple's optimization issues. On my newly 11.0.1 updated SE I'm not really getting much stutter (and much less than 11.0).

So far better for me as well. Yesterday I was at 30% by no. I am currently at 52% and this includes normal morning on 11.0 and updating at 11am to 11.0.1 it is 3pm for me now. Will know better tomorrow after indexing calms and I get a charge cycle

What device are you using? Just wondering.
As for my SE, performance is much better than 11.0; and I am currently on 100% battery so I am waiting on that. Will report later.

Yeah, I also don't understand why a 1-year old device the animation stutters... It wasn't like that on iOS 10... I also use an iPhone SE and because of my iPad, I kept my SE still on iOS 10 as I'm afraid it will happen the same way as my iPad... I think it is the iOS 11 itself that it is not fully optimised yet.

Posted this in the 11.0.1 thread. Granted I do not have a SE but so far it looks like 11.0.1 is very solid!

Installed iOS 11.0.1 on my iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6 and a 2017 iPad. Smooth and non-eventful install on all three devices. Performance is excellent on all three with fluid and responsive UI. On the iPhone 6 there appears to be a slight improvement in overall responsiveness in opening and closing apps especially the Camera app. On the others performance is on par with iOS 11 GM. Of course I am one of those that did not have issues such as stuttering or lag. Battery performance on iOS 11.0.1 looks to be on track to be slightly better than iOS 11 GM based on my iPhone 7 Plus. I fully charged it immediately after updating to iOS 11.0.1. Of course I'll have a better assessment after running it for more than 24 hours. I my opinion iOS 11 is the best release ever since...well I am not sure when but at least since the last two or three releases of iOS.

Thanks for the info! Your 7 seems to be performing pretty well! Usually SE can at least match 7 battery and I expect about 2 hrs of usage at about 80% (10% per hour), so that looks great.

iPhone 6s: I used to have 6+ hours of usage on iOS 10, with iOS 11 it's down to 4.5-5. No other performance issues.

iOS 11.0.1 did not change anything (so far).

I installed 11 the moment it went live. It’s been like this since - standby time = usage time. Surely whatever indexing it did should’ve been finished by now. I have 70GB free on my 128GB iP7. Today I installed 11.01 and there’s no change.

I think I’m going to backup and do a DFU restore.

Yeah, it shouldn't be like that normally.

What im tired of is settings getting reset, or new settings defaulting to on. In settings accounts and passwords, fetch new data is set on. Ive always had my mail turned to manual fetch, cuz i dont want my systems looking for email every time it wants. I think it started in 11, but i only noticed it after this update. Not sure how that affects battery...
