can you upgrade the memory later on the 2012 macbook air 13" ?

also if not, is 4GB enough for office work? I have no idea how hungry OSX lion (and mountain lion) is.

No, you cannot upgrade RAM later on. As for RAM, 4GB will be enough.

I've had the same debate going and after numerous trips to the Apple store, I was leaning towards the 11". Last night though, I stopped by for one last look and to seriously try typing out a document. Unfortunately the palm rest just hits my hands in a really uncomfortable spot. So I guess now its back to the 13".

Go for the 13" because you can serve more drinks or appetizers with that model.

If your primary use of the MBA is not serving drinks or appetizers, then different selection criteria will apply.

It is a pitty that the 17" disappears, I served most drinks and spring rolls with that one.

Both Airs have a full sized keyboard

I'm a software developer, have been professionally for 15 years now, and the 11" now is my only development machine. No extra monitor.
