Hello! Since they have the same price in my country (€650) which one should I get?

11 pros:
- Battery life
- Ultrawide camera

XS Max pros:
- OLED display
- 2x zoom

Thank you!

As much as I love my Max if it’s the same price you may as well go for the 11 Pro. Just so long as you aren’t pining for the bigger screen

I’ve got the XS Max and it’s just a fantastic device

I think the OP is talking about iPhone 11 (not Pro) vs XS Max. 🖐

IMO, go with your personal preferences and intuition on this one, as both are great phones. I would just check that your eyes are ok with Apple’s flickery OLED implementation, but this is hard to tell without actually using it for a while.

I’m talking about the iPhone 11, non the iPhone 11 Pro :) the iPhone 11 Pro is €950

You outlined the difference between the models already, so on a nutshell take the one that’s most appealing to you.

Only you can determine which you like best.

iPhone 11. The camera improvements would be enough to tip me over the edge.

I am very confused because some say that OLED is more important than battery life, some say the opposite. Some say that photolens is more important than wideangle because it produces more natural portraits, some say the opposite. Please, help :D

And some say veggies are better tasting than meat and others claim the opposite. That’s all personal preference.

If none of these features appeal to you- then maybe you don’t need a new device and are just throwing money out of the door.

Apple offers two weeks return period - why don’t you order both and send the one you like less home.

I keep seeing people saying the oled flickers.. but myself and two other adults in my house, as well as two children don’t see any flicker on my phone.

I chose the XS Max 256 because I got it considerably cheaper than the base 11. No regrets.

11 easily. Night mode, newer CPU (same as the Pro), 4K front camera. I "upgraded" my 64gbXS Max to a 256gb 11 and it came out cheaper. A used XS Max may be a different story though.

Really depends on what and how you use your iPhone for. If you told us that it would be easier to reccomend one over the other.

You don’t miss the bigger OLED screen and the telephoto?

Xs Max for the win. Easily you can get one with 512gb in superb condition for less than 600usd now.

how many times and how Long are you using the cameras on the 11? Also you will be staring at the screen so much longer in a day vs a year using the cameras.

unless u are an avid photographer or professional, go for the xs Max and it’s still relatively a new phone. if you consider your phone as a symbol too, the 11s are mostly catered to Youngsters, students, new professionals or simply those who could not afford the pro models yet. Given a choice assuming the 11 and the pro Max are the same price, you will definitely choose a pro model ain’t it?

your eyes will also thank you as you aged, unless you cannot stand the OLED “flicker”. I have sensitive eyes and the OLED screen is never a bother.

11

it has a BETTER CAMERA
it has a BETTER BATTERY LIFE
it has NIGHT MODE
it has ULTRA WIDE (more useful than telephoto which you can zoom)
it has better PROCESSOR

choosing XS max over so many reasons just because of OLED is funny

Do you really believe that? The iPhone 11 does not have specific appeal to a select few types of people, it’s used by nearly all demographics. It’s widely used in the corporate world due to its affordability and appeals generally because it has most of the Pro features but not at a piss take price. I could afford a Pro but as long as the mid tier iPhone 11/12/13 is competing on specs, I can’t see why I would consider paying £1k+.

Ultrawide being more useful than telephoto is subjective. I’d much rather have telephoto.

yeah but majority is into ultrawide, that's the big reason why pixel flopped it's because they included an ultrawide rather than telephoto

but nonetheless, all other features of 11 are big advantage in usage

Not really, no. I never zoom in anything whether in video or photo. The only time I notice the OLED is nicer is if I place them side by side (my wife has the XSM now).
In everyday use, the LCD is perfectly fine for me.

Huh? The majority prefer ultra wide, but the pixel flopped because it had ultra wide?

James May from the grand tour has an 11. It’s probably a good phone, main reason I didn’t go with it was lack of a 1080p display, and the premium over the previous flagship was unjustifiable due to the fact it wasn’t a flagship and the upgraded camera wasn’t enough to sway me, though the battery was tempting. In low power mode I can spend 14 hours on my phone posting in forums, watching YouTube, light gaming, Facebook, the usual and still have some juice to spare. Of course I wanted the 11 max, but I didn’t want to spend, and it’s a good thing I didn’t. When this is all done and myself and my family are ok, I will treat myself to the latest flagship. My loans will be paid in 2 years after that it frees up a buttload of cash.
