Huh? The majority prefer ultra wide, but the pixel flopped because it had ultra wide?
the pixel got telephoto NOT ultrawide

yeah but majority is into ultrawide, that's the big reason why pixel flopped it's because they included an ultrawide rather than telephoto
Yup, me too. Hooked since the 7+, I wish the 11 had telephoto, I'd be using that instead of my Pro MaxUltrawide being more useful than telephoto is subjective. I’d much rather have telephoto.
Utterly bollocks, I can afford a pro model just fine, but to spend 300-400 more just for oled which can’t even tell difference from the lcd on a day to day is non sense.Xs Max for the win. Easily you can get one with 512gb in superb condition for less than 600usd now.
how many times and how Long are you using the cameras on the 11? Also you will be staring at the screen so much longer in a day vs a year using the cameras.
unless u are an avid photographer or professional, go for the xs Max and it’s still relatively a new phone. if you consider your phone as a symbol too, the 11s are mostly catered to Youngsters, students, new professionals or simply those who could not afford the pro models yet. Given a choice assuming the 11 and the pro Max are the same price, you will definitely choose a pro model ain’t it?
your eyes will also thank you as you aged, unless you cannot stand the OLED “flicker”. I have sensitive eyes and the OLED screen is never a bother.
Not really. You really think consumers can Fully appreciate/understand the differences between an Ultra Wide versus telephoto lens? The Pixel simply doesn’t have the notoriety that Samsung and Apple phones carry, Coupled with hardly any marketing, plus the software experience was heavily knocked For what Google was asking in price.
OLED for the win
Sensible people will go with the more expense phone from the start can max is it. Better screen and better build.
I don’t think the camera is that much better on the 11 , yes the wide angle helps but it’s not the end all to be all.

Not to mention I find lcd read nicer than oled for news and articles on the web
if anyone consider their phone to be a status symbol need to get their head examine.
yes the larger screen makes all the difference in the world. You should always get the largest iPhone possible, eek out every valuable mm from a bigger screen. As much as I love my Max if it’s the same price you may as well go for the 11 Pro. Just so long as you aren’t pining for the bigger screen
I’ve got the XS Max and it’s just a fantastic device
The GREATEST AND BEST iPhone is the ultimate status symbol, one that everyone envies. It shows ppl you are rich and have good tastes for good designs. OLED makes a world of difference, and is a huge leap forward. It is simply no match for the crappy 720p LCD which has the same resolution as the iPhone 4, released 10 years ago. Yes, its 2020 now, time to move on and increase resolution to OLED levels.

I expect it's a status symbol in some countries with lower wages. In the US where the difference between 11 and 11 Pro Max is $10-20/mo? Not so much.Nobody envies a phone. It’s 2020.
Phones are not status symbols. Nor are any other items sold in tens of millions every year. It’s 2020.
Taste and design appreciation are personal preference.
The best iPhone is the one an individual chooses and decides is best for their needs. You have to bear in mind many posters here are in their 30s and 40’s and even older. People aren’t envying each other’s iPhones like the way you suggest unless they are perhaps teenagers or young professionals obsessed with image.
Apple doesn’t make an LCD currently with the same resolution as an iPhone 4, not sure where you got that impression? If there’s one place where you’ll find people clued up on iPhone specs, it’s Mac Rumours.
They have the same pixel density: 326 ppiI got the impression from tech specs. Just google it or look it up in Apple's website. The iPhone 4 and iPhone XR/11 have the exact same pixels per inch, meaning it is the same resolution. (ppi is the real metric for comparison as it is adjusted for different screen sizes/dimensions).

This pretty much sums it up. Most people who actually use iPhones will tell you that the whole "but it's not 1080P" thing is silly. There's more to screen specifications than the number before the "P"11
it has a BETTER CAMERA
it has a BETTER BATTERY LIFE
it has NIGHT MODE
it has ULTRA WIDE (more useful than telephoto which you can zoom)
it has better PROCESSOR
choosing XS max over so many reasons just because of OLED is funny
They have the same pixel density: 326 ppi
They do NOT have the same resolution:
iPhone 4: 960x640
iPhone XR/11: 1792x828

That said, I don't particularly find the three-eyed raven look attractive (yes, I know it's crow in the books).
