You could get one of these. A combination Apple FedEx fail.

I can't get a good picture of it, but the dent on the back masses with the LCD screen. Imagine someone always pressing the back of your LCD.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Time to call FedEx.

When I eventually buy one I would pick it up from the store.

Very surprised they never sent it withing a plain box
i like the way Amazon sends there electrical products boxed within
a box.
The above just shows my fears

Yeah I'm on the phone with them now (on hold). Will let you know how my customer service experience goes.

It was a BTO

I was excited because I got my RAM today from Newegg.

It baffles me when people do such idiotic things. Even considering that the package may have been delivered in your absence, why the hell would you even think about opening it? What are these people thinking?

Opening it doesn't change the fact that I would have to return it. I opened it on the off chance that it didn't screw the crap out of the computer, which it did.

I did get this insulting e-mail just now.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Apple.

We are pleased to offer you a coupon for use at the Apple Online Store. This coupon is valid until Saturday, March 26, 2011 for:

$15 off an order of $100 or more (excluding sales tax and applicable shipping charges)
$30 off an order of $200 or more (excluding sales tax and applicable shipping charges)
$45 off an order of $300 or more (excluding sales tax and applicable shipping charges)

etc. etc.

You want me to spend MORE MONEY!?

Between Apple and FedEx, someone will take care of it but to the OP, next time you shouldn't open the package unless you really just want pics to post on some forum.

Refuse or if delivered while you were away, call them back and refuse it. That way no blame rests with you.

Also, my dad signed for it, not me >.> Apple is going to take care of it (or work it out with fedex) but either way I have to wait even longer.

Also, @surely: It's all intents and purposes.

It's not about who signed it. You should not have opened the box. Period! That way, the blame is entirely on the shipping company. Now you have to explain all sorts of details to Apple before they will fully refund you.

Already did that and it took 5m on the phone. I'm taking it back to the fedex store tonight.

it will be resolved, going to take awhile to get a new computer but hey atleast now u can use that coupon towards a new ipad 2 lol.

Can I has coupon for iPad 2? :)

I wonder if this tends to happen more when you get "Expedited Shipping" since they have to be faster with moving packages... more likely to get damaged...

Did you get expedited shipping OP?

Not only would I take this too apple right now, I would send a professional letter to Steve Jobs and the executive office of Apple.

Really? You would send a letter to the CEO of a multibillion dollar company due to damage during shipping? If you were to do that, shouldn't you write the letter to the CEO of FedEx since they're the ones who delivered and damaged it?

Anyways, it seems that Apple is going to take care of it. Why write the letter now?

for what it's worth, mine show up early and in perfect condition :/

It's not worth much to him.
