It's actually the exact opposite of that. I have worked for UPS for the last 6 years and usually it's the ground packages that turn up looking like it was over by a freight train...
... I have never had a problem with Air packages, but have seen thousands of dented boxes shipped ground.
Something to think about next time you order electronics.

Ooh, good tip! Thank you!

Come on, people. Sometimes things are damaged during shipping. So, it will be replaced.

Calm down.

I'm just curious: How did Apple handle this? I'm just wondering what they do in cases like this. I really hope that they'll replace it without any hassle.

I couldn't cope with having a $2000 machine that looks like that, I'm always careful with my stuff. My 13" MBP looked as new when I sold it after 2 years.

fedex just gets worse and worse.

fedex is just the pits these days.

the drivers don't bother to ring the bell half the time, just put a tag.

the other day, they tried to deliver 2 dell's to me that wasn't mine. he said i should just accept it, dell will never know! saves him the paperwork i guess!

i wish we can specify ups.

How do you blame Apple for FedEx ruining your computer?
You're lucky that Apple is helping you out - the last time something like that happened to me, I had to deal with UPS.

I got mine from Amazon.

The laptop was in a box within a box within a box.

The apple box was in abother brown box which suspended the apple box (had corners). That brown box was in another way bigger brown amazon box.

Curious, did you do overnight shipping with prime? I have a prime account and was thinking about just overnighting mine when I order it this weekend because it's only another $3.99 (plus it's in the mail one less day compared to the free 2 day shipping). I have purchased some stuff from amazon overnight and at times it hasn't been packed that great (loose in another box with little packaging). Hopefully though they pack all of their apple laptops the way you received yours.

Read the whole thread mate.

UPDATE: I called Apple the day of and shipped it to them free of charge. Once they received my dented laptop they shipped out my new one. It arrived in 2 days from China. I got my new machine today. The FedEx box look just a bit dented, but nothing outside the norm.

I now have a pristine 15 inch macbook pro with no weird yellow tint in the screen, no dead pixels, no overheating. It's great. Just a bit late.
