Am I the only one not able to find the release notes for this?

Nevermind. I am blind. They are at the top.

just a word of warning to everyone. Before you install iTunes beta 2 back up your phone as iTunes will now not let me sync my iPhone with iOS 5 beta 1. I am going to see if iTunes will let me update rather than just restore. I will keep you posted

As noted by ItsAllTech, Apple has released the first followup beta release to iOS developers. iOS 5 Build 9A5248d was just released this evening. The first changes noted include:

- Wireless syncing has been enabled for Mac OS X computers
- A new iTunes beta has been released as well

We'll post updates as we hear more.

is there a windows version of iTunes beta 2 like there was beta 1? i can't get in at the mo to check

once i installed iTunes 10.5 beta 2 and plugged in my iPhone with iOS 5 Beta 1 on it said that it could not sync

I hope I'm not breaking the NDA by posting this:

WiFi Syncing
In iOS 5.0 beta 2, wireless syncing is now available for the Mac. It requires iTunes 10.5 beta 2 and OS X 10.6.8 or Lion. You will see an option to enable wireless syncing when you connect your device to iTunes with the USB cable. It is recommended you perform your initial sync with a cable after restoring your device.
Wireless syncing is triggered automatically when the device is connected to power and on the same network as the paired computer. Or, you can manually trigger a sync from iTunes or from Settings -> General -> iTunes Sync (same network as paired computer required). Be sure your device is plugged into a power source when performing Wireless syncs.
If you find issues with apps, media and/or photos synced to your device, you can reset then resync. From Settings -> General -> Reset, choose Erase all Content and Settings. Then reconnect to iTunes and sync again.
In this beta, iTunes may incorrectly report Photos as "Other" in the capacity bar. Photo syncing otherwise works as expected.

Someone will no doubt say you are, despite every tech site from MacRumors to Engadget to TUAW to Macworld detailing the changes of every Beta since iOS began ... I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep that in mind.

But this was quite an obvious thing so I thought Apple wouldn't mind me posting it. :)

EDIT: MacRumors itself states that already in the headline. :)

So, other than the changes, can anyone confirm performance wise how it compares to Beta 1. Are Apple ramping up the quality of the UI (fluidity, etc) or is it only features being added one at a time for now on top of the same UI build.

haha so true! i'm waiting for the usual suspects to come in and start saying how non-devs are bringing about the apocolypse for installing a beta OS.......

lol it's onyl been up for 20 mins, performance questions need a bit more than that :p beta 1 took a little while to stablise performance wise, so guessin this would be the same.

pretty much all features were in beta 1, just not wifi sync and OTA updates, unless i missed something
