I'll put in my two cents. I had an iPad Air for two years and I loved it, used it just about every day. I upgraded to the iPhone 6 Plus and all of a sudden my iPad Air didn't seem so big to me any more. In anticipation of the iPad Pro I sold my Air while they were still worth a decent amount and waited for the Pro to be announced. I got the Pro just after launch.

I really liked it, I used it a lot and worked it into my life. After having it for a month I realized I wasn't using it as much as I was using my iPad Air when I had it. It was too cumbersome to use while laying in bed, too heavy to use one handed for any amount of time, and it was too unwieldy at times. Knowing how much I paid for it and it's large size made it difficult for me to feel like it was safe from falls, something that large is going to crack no matter what.

I sold it off and just went without a tablet, I was about ready to buy an iPad Air 2 but thank goodness I waited for the Pro 9.7. I am also selling my 6 Plus to get the iPhone SE, I had the iPhone 5s and the iPad Air combo and it worked well for me so I'm essentially going back to that experience.

I loved the iPad Pro but I feel like it become a stay at home, use on desk experience for me. I already have a computer for that purpose so no sense in keeping it.

All said, I can't wait for my iPad Pro 9.7 and my iPhone SE, both are supposed to be shipped by the 30th!
I think you're caught up by the "new" announcement of Apple...I know I was. I almost considered doing what you did and realized that Apple is a marketing genius.

I have a 6s Plus and IPP 12.9 and love having two larger devices. I went to the Apple Store to try the 5s (because I was going to do what you did) and I couldn't type for crap on it. The keyboard is so small that my thumbs were hitting the wrong buttons. Hopefully it works out for you but I think you'll miss the larger display.

I know the first couple weeks are going to be difficult, going from 5.5 to 4 is a big jump. I actually thought about getting a 5S to use alongside my 6 Plus a couple months ago because it was getting difficult to use my phone while I worked out. I'm going to keep my 6 Plus for a little while just in case. I'm not a huge texting person as I still use my phone to make phone calls, it's so much easier holding a smaller phone to my ear.

You are right though, Apple is a marketing genius. They could sell me a dime for a nickel if I don't watch myself. Hopefully I don't regret it, worst case scenario I sell it down the road since i own my 6 Plus outright. I don't regret however selling my iPad Pro, I just missing having some kind of tablet.
