Home Alone was the first one I didn't download, and now I find out America gets Hugo? Come on! I want Hugo! Give me Hugo! Wuaaaa!!!

So sweet of Apple to give me movies i can already stream for free on netflix or apps that are garbage. Thanks Apple. We should call it the 12 days of garbage instead and then at least we wouldn't be hoping for anything special.

Nobody is forcing you to download it!

Also, this lets you download a critically-aclaimed, Oscar-winning film (that also happens to be very beautiful and touching) that you can use on all your Apple devices and can even watch when you don't have access to the internet!

How spoiled and ungrateful you are :mad:

... but as usual Scorsese takes what could have been a good movie and ruins it.

And so no, I am not wrong. I have studied film, written critically about film, have a film degree, and know a lot about the entire history of film. And Scorsese is OVERRATEED!

Not whining about free stuff, just bashing a director who needs to stop making movies.
So Scorsese is an overrated director, needs to stop making movies, and takes what could have been good movies and ruins them.

Here's how some of the movies he has directed are rated by the masses on IMDB:

Taxi Driver - 8.4
Raging Bull - 8.3
Goodfellas - 8.7
Cape Fear - 7.3
Casino - 8.2
The Gangs of New York - 7.5
The Aviator - 7.5
The Departed - 8.5
Shutter Island - 8.0
(This movie) Hugo - 7.6
(His most recent film, released five days ago) The Wolf of Wall Street - 8.8

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. However, there seem to be plenty of people who don't think that Martin Scorsese "needs to stop making movies."

Tyler Perry, gawd yes, he should stop making movies. Martin Scorsese? Give us more, I say.

I saw this movie when it first came out in theaters in 3D

The 3D version was AMAZING, one of the best 3D movies ever made because of how the 3D was utilized exceptionally.

I enjoyed it more than Avatar.

I really can't speak on the 2D version but I was really blown away at how well and competently the 3D was used in this film.

it is a shame that apple is not offering a 3d version. :(

but maybe if you get it, you will eventually be upgraded when they update to 3d monitors, like old 720p purchases now are 1080.

Ive set my itunes to HD downloads and 'purchased' the HD version yet when I download it's downloading the SD version. What gives?

I should add that I've been able to download previous purchases in HD before.

You can't stream it on Netflix for free. You have a paid subscription to Netflix.

Things also disappear from Netflix. It's always nice to own a movie if you really like it.

This is what makes me happy that i also have an US appleID, really a big difference in the gifts.
Oh well apple is apple and nothing will change there.
What did you guys get the last few days?

Edit: well I found the list. Thanks to Billybobbongo for a link to the list
and thanks to me for creating THE list ;)

I created accounts for NZ, UK, US and CA so as not to miss out when different countries get different gifts.

No. You're wrong.

Uh, other countries have had this app for years, and North America just got it for the first time. Deal with it.

If this is the level you want to argue on, maybe you should try bgr.com. It will probably suit you and your non-humoristic approach to discussion better.

Here in Australia Home Alone was just on network TV last week, Christmas eve I think. Why would I want to see it again?

This is only if people play by the Apple rules.

I get movies from the U.S in any case on iTunes U.S account..... In actual fact downloading pirated is easier because not all movies will be available to 'Rent' or even 'purchase' thanks to those snobby movie studios.... So really, their pushing up to the same thing they wanna prevent..

Ironic, isn't it...... I always knew it would turn out this way :) If they loose money due to streaming, they'll be loosing even from piracy... :) And in all honesty, i'm glad they are.

Just give us what we wanna watch and we'll leave in peace.

I did watch Hugo on Itunes US when it came out... Good movie, but i wouldn't wanna watch it again, kinda long and boring.
