I disagree, it looks like a cross between the first MacBook Air and the 12" PowerBook. After using the keyboard since April I've come to like it. It's a matter of changing how you type a bit. Think of it more like an enhanced touchscreen. A light touch works best, and is surprisingly efficient. I now find the chicklet-style keyboard on my work PC (similar to the MacBook Air) a bit tiresome.

Luckily looks are subjective. I find the thing hideous and un-Apple like.

I actually almost bought one of these laptops in the beginning. Of course they were impossible to find in store so I settled for a 13" MBA instead. I later found out how much more powerful my MBA is compared to the new MacBooks and it made me appreciate my MBA 10X over.

Well, I went ahead and bought the MacBook. Space Gray. I wanted an Air, but the screens look terrible.

You still haven't really said what all these negatives or shortcomings actually are. You've just repeated what people said on YouTube.

I use it for email / internet / photos / music / MS Office / web development / light Illustrator and Photoshop use.

And its absolutely fine.

So despite your two posts above I'm still not sure why you think its not for "the average user".

What sorts of things do you think the average user would be doing that they would struggle with on the MB?
I ended up buying a MacBook. I want a light computer with a good screen.
