I'm very shocked at reviewers saying 12PM is a beast. Its too big. Blah Blah Blah. All of sudden this phone is too big. They never said that about 11PM. Over the last few years I've stopped listening and watching these reviews. My gut instinct tells me I will be fine. I already have a spigen case for the 12PM. When comparing 11PM which I've had since launch to the 12PM its such a small increase doubt it I will be bothered by it.

It's because they were given a mini with it and are comparing it to that, and not the XS or 11 pro max size.

I wonder if he used a brand new 11 Pro Max or the one he’s used for the past 11 months that he mentions in the video?
That's the same question I've had as well. BTW, I noticed you moved to a 12 this year coming from an 8+. How's the battery life by comparison to your 8+? I still have mine and am contemplating a 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max. I don't want to go backwards in the battery life. I know it's a minor increase in form factor and weight but it's larger than the 8+. Appreciate any input you could share.

What I seem to understand is that 11PM/12PM both within top battery life on any iPhone device. With that said....that's what I expected and full appreciation on my part.

Hi sure, I wasn’t as impressed with battery life at first but it seems to have improved over the past 2 weeks. It’s about the same as my 8+ was when new I would say. Ending each day with about 30% with a decent amount of use. It’s also nice to have the bigger screen but in a slightly smaller body. Certainly notice it is less cumbersome to carry around. Hope that helps :)

12 megapixels isn't cutting it anymore, we need at least 64. Hopefully next yrs models improves in that aspect

Strongly disagree - except if your output is large, aka huge prints. For web use, 8 MP is plenty.

I print a lot from iPhone and my conservative rule of thumb is that the megapixels correspond to the short side of a print. IOW, 8 MP is good for a 8x10 print. 64 MP is good for a 64 x 80” print.

Nice to have but totally unnecessary for any practical use of a hand held phone camera or any camera not mounted on a professional tripod.

The amount of megapixels is largely irrelevant to the more important elements of the camera tech used. 12 megapixels is more than enough on a camera, let alone a smartphone.
You can do things like lossless digital zoom and oversampling (think the opposite of a retina display, 4 pixels of data condensed into one photo pixel) with super high resolutions, and with the sensor size of the new Pro Max, the drawbacks are mitigated. So I definitely wouldn't say irrelevant, though they would ideally need to be able to get the bigger camera system into the smaller Pro so you aren't left with a massive camera feature gulf between the two.

A 64MP camera sensor doesn't mean 64MP photos (well, it can, but that's not how it's normally implemented). You usually take 5,8,12 MP photos with the extra resolution 'binned' to improve the image quality.

Thank you, that's the kind of feedback I was looking for. I appreciate it! I like the larger screen of the 8+/Max for sure, but the extra weight and larger form factor in some ways I could do without. Battery is very comparable with capacity and estimated use time between the two on paper. Real world experience means more to me at least. I need to see these two devices in person before I decide. The camera is another consideration as well. The 12 Pro Max looks beastly in virtually every way.

no way! I hope they keep 12 for a long time and just make the sensor bigger. Are you going to pring wallpaper sized images taken with your phone? I would much rather have huge pixels for video and photo.

Now if only they could have solved that nasty lensflare.. kinda ridiculous on the highest end Ultra iPhone IMO.
