None of you get it, if you have "ageing eyes" was the comment, you will need glasses, so you will have to use them on EVERY SCREEN from a iP mini to a 27" iMac.
12PM isn't going to solve that lol.

I have ageing eyes and I now have to take my glasses off to read the iPad and iPhone. I can see better without my glasses. It’s called presbyopia.

I was waiting for the max reviews to drop before I made my decision. I hate big phones and I was willing to make a sacrifice with the size if the camera was worth it. It is not, IMO. I might just get the 12 Pro or entirely skip the 12 seeing the 11’s camera is still very good. At this point I feel I would be upgrading only for the new form factor since 5G is not even ready where I live and the camera results are only a slight improvement from the 11. I think if you’re coming from the X or XR, definitely do it, the 11, not necessary.
Feels weird not upgrading since I’ve done so for every model since the first one came out.

I myself i probably going to buy the 12 pro max. I'm moving back from Android after several years to the IOS.

I'm still thinking about it. I had the first iphone throughout to iphone 7 and then i moved over to android with Samsung and finally on oneplus. Now i'm probably going to move back as priority has changed in life.

I got a small kid running around all day and trying to take picture with my OP6 compared to my wife's iPhone 11 is day and night. Her pictures are so much more crisp and better looking and I want that too. Kid growing up is time you never going to capture again.

I'm still missing somethings on the apple phones unfortunately.. like touch id is still gone? I might be able to live with that.. IOS still feeling old, haven't tried it extensively lately but felt the same over and over again before. I don't have any other apple products anymore so i'm not "locked" into the eco system as much. But dang they make fine quality products :)

Price is quite hefty in Sweden... i think we are paying around 1400$ for the base pro max model here. (give or take depending on the exchange rates) paying almost 1000$ for the normal 12 model.. i'm quite jealous of the US prices now..

Anyway, my input would probably be that if you have the 11 pro max or 11, I would not upgrade.
However, if money isn't an issue and you always want the newest.. well can't see anything stopping you as the resale value of apple products seems insanely high (holding up great with second hand value)

Jumping from 6.1" screen to 6.7" screen. Doesn't sound much but i'll see if that is a big jump or not. Luckily got an apple store close by.

Can't get my hands on an phone until 25th if i order online.. so might as well go into the store and feel the size of it and if they have it in store, i'll jump ship back to iOS :)

How is it a big heavy beast when it's minimally larger?

The screen is .2 larger and the flat edges take away from the actual size

The weight is 7.97oz's compared to 8.03.

If anyone has had a Max phone they're well aware of the size and this phone isn't much bigger. I have several cases already and it's minimally bigger than my other leather cases.

Stop trolling.I say again, the 11 pro Max was already very big and heavy. If you can't take people giving their opinions on website built for giving opinions without calling people names. Then log off and stay off.

I’d have to respectfully kind of disagree with @Gix1k and @Ralfi - how’s that for weaseling words, lol. Or at least I’d like to add another perspective to those comments related to posted reviews.

I’ve been an amateur photographer most of my life - 35mm, medium format, large format, a Leica once (didn’t ‘click’ with me), and digital from day one.

The Max 12 camera shows marked improvement in low light, and that’s exactly when many of the best images, at least outdoors, are made - the so-called ‘golden hour’. This is not a small thing. The improvement in night photography due to the lager sensor should be evident too.

The larger sensor pixels -> less noise will help make larger prints too, if that’s your output.

That there is not much difference in ideal conditions is unsurprising and should not be expected. It’s been difficult to tell the image quality apart from digital cameras, phones or compact digital, under ideal conditions for some time now. And one review said that under good conditions the differences between the Max, Pro, and the Pixel and Samsung flagships was not large. Expected, but there was a marked difference in low light conditions with the Max readily topping other cameras.

I’ll repeat myself WRT the reviews just to be clear - this is not a small improvement, it’s big.

The focal length changes in the Max camera are welcome too, I’m looking forward to the longer ‘telephoto’.

I agree, and another area are moving persons (kids) in normal/weak indoor light. Bigger sensor will probably have shorter "shutter time". It would be great with a comparison of shutter time between Pro and Pro Max in identical indoor scenarios with moving objects (does the iphone camera detect moving objects and adapt shutter time by the way?)

I think if you compare the Xs Max to the 11 Pro Max to the 12 Pro Max, it’s worth noting the increase in weight going from Xs Max to 11 Pro Max. So 2 grams extra is probably not going to make a difference if you are used to the 11 Pro Max. And it also depends on how the weight is distributed across the size and form factor. It’s funny how big a deal many reviewers make of the size. And the ones that compare it to the mini 🤦🏻‍♂️

I'm very shocked at reviewers saying 12PM is a beast. Its too big. Blah Blah Blah. All of sudden this phone is too big. They never said that about 11PM. Over the last few years I've stopped listening and watching these reviews. My gut instinct tells me I will be fine. I already have a spigen case for the 12PM. When comparing 11PM which I've had since launch to the 12PM its such a small increase doubt it I will be bothered by it.

I saw that video where the demo was done on all 12 series iPhones and the 11 Pro Max. I wonder if the 11 Pro Max's battery was in new condition as the 12's were or if it was less efficient. That could have an impact on the results if it were the latter.

I’m an xs max fan and I can say just handling a slim 12 pro max case it feels big in the hand because of the flat edges don’t conform to your hand. The 12 max case is just about the same size as my xs max using a medium size case from incision. But who cares I’ll buy it anyways.

It’s the flat sides. It’s making a big impression on reviewers. That’s the only explanation. The reviewers are finding that the flat sides make the 12 PM feel bigger in general. Otherwise it’s thinner than the 11 PM, same width, .1” taller, and a whole 2 grams heavier. If you enjoy the size of Plus and Max phones I imagine the 12 PM is a non-issue size-wise.

Its usually people who don't daily a Plus or Max iPhone who are making those claims anyways...

This is the same spigen case I use on my 11PM that I’ll be using on my 12PM. Look at the slight difference. Also upon handling this case with my hands it feels normal and fine to me. When I decided to go big screen iPhone no lie took me 1 week to get used to it. I used to despise big screen phones now I can’t live without them. Not only is it better for me in regards to production and running my business. The bigger phone bigger battery means better battery life. That right there in a hole is the ultime decisión for me. I can’t worry about battery life or charging when I have to handle over 500+ things daily between my company and kids.

It’s been mixed. Testing conditions vary. I’ve seen the 12 pro max edge the 11 pro max by 10-15 minutes and in one video the 11 pro max lasts 30 minutes longer than the 12 max. Depends on apps and brightness levels and whatever else

edit: bottom line it’s fair to say that the 12 max is roughly in the same neighborhood as the 11 max to where within the margins of error it’s a non issue

True I think normal day to day usage nobody should be worried about battery life

12 megapixels isn't cutting it anymore, we need at least 64. Hopefully next yrs models improves in that aspect
