No you cannot go back. No exceptions once you mOve away from unlimited
So if I were to get an iPhone 2G, activate it, I get the $20 Unlimited Plan. Then get the 4S and it automatically adds me to the $30 Unlimited Plan?

Nope not closed at this time. There is even a very long thread here on MR that this very topic.No. This loophole was closed long ago because people abused the system. AT&T got wind of it and closed it. Now, you have to have like 1 year of 2G service plan before jumping to the unlimited 3G plan.

You do have to work for it and have an original iPhone and use iTunes to activate it as a new phone but it still works.

There is a reason that AT&T calls the plan the unlimited for 4S.![]()
Lets say I go back the the iPhone 4, I wonder if the new iPhone 4s unlimited data plan would work since its a Hspa+ data plan. Therfore I was wondering if we can roll back to the original unlimited data plan.
So does anyone know if there actually is a difference in the two plans? iPhone 4 Unlimited vs iPhone4S unlimited?

It works but you have to let the system do the change of the $20 data plan for the orignial iPhone to the $30 Unlimited Data plan. Don't try to force it by calling, let the system detect your device change from the original iPhone to a later iPhone.Damn, I'd like to give this iphone 2G trick a try.
You think it wont let me or if I call customer service they will let me update to the unlimited 3G data from the old $20 plan?

If you call Customer Care or go to an AT&T store, your chances are some what random and based on the skills of the rep. Just like all those that posted in the thread that could not follow the iTunes activation steps and ended up with a tiered iPhone Data plan.
