I know I used it once when I first got my 4S. Now it seem like all I do is showoff to my friends every once in a while but I never seem to actually use it. Anyone else the same way?

Hmmm

I use it all the time in the car, especially texting while driving, by Siri telling me and me replying by voice.

Could be an incredible safety feature as negates the use of hands, but other than than in the car, no !

:D

Let's be honest…do we need another one of these threads?

The dozens of Siri is a gimmick threads not enough?

I use it to dictate and read my text while I'm driving. But, I only txt close friends since I have no idea what Siri is actually going to write. The conversations are really amusing sometimes. And, Siri is really awesome for adding stuff to your calendar, to do list, reminder, alarm, etc. It cuts a lot of tedious time that made me not do it in the first place. The conversations with Siri are a gimmick, but it is very useful in other regards.

I dont use it for anything except for making appointments. And i make appointments alot, it's so useful than writing it manually on iCal. So yes, siri get used alot. Unlike facetime.

I'm dyslexic, so I use it often. However, in spite of the fact that I talk on my phone in public it feels weird to dictate in public. I feel like such a geek when I do...

I would probably use it everyday if it supported Sweden.. All i can do is schedule meetings, text and stuff like that, but not find anything nearby etc..

I do not think that Siri was a huge selling point for the iPhone 4S. I use the speech to text but Siri is seldom used. Maybe one or twice a week.

I end up using Siri or speech to text at least once a day. I use it to compose text messages and enter appointments.

I use it alOT for

  • Meetings
  • Reminders
  • Alarms
  • Emails and Text Messages: I combine Siri and dictation all the time.

Very handy while driving. Siri and dictation were big selling points for me.

Put it to your ear, then it just looks like you're using the phone for a call.

Yup, i'm right there along with quite a few posters. I use siri for reminders, texting, searching the web, calendar events, searching my calendar.

VERY helpful addition to the iPhone

I use it occasionally. I probably use the speech to text the most, usually daily. I also use it for quick web searches while I'm on the go.

Since it snowed here in Michigan the other day, I was dreaming of Hawaii and asked Siri to check the weather in Honolulu. It was 79F and partly cloudy - I wished I was there.

my kids use it to ask stupid questions.
I find it takes longer to tell siri to complete a task than it does with my fingers.

Exactly! IMO, that's the only way Siri should be used in public. Just like those annoying push-to-talk phones from years ago, nobody wants to hear your business on the equivalent of speakerphone. Put the damn thing up to your ear and talk normally.

I use Siri pretty much every day. For me, it's the fastest way to set reminders, calendar entries, alarms/timers, txts, etc.
