Do people think it's impressive when the say there running an older phone, with older chips, older camera, older screen, older modem, older wifi is a flex of some sort? I don't understand it.
Gotta space out your meals... if you eat every hour in the afternoon, you're gonna feel sick. I think waiting 5 hours after 12PM until 17PM will give your stomach more time to rest...

Is it finally time to upgrade…12PM STILL running smooth and battery at 88. Bugs should be worked out from 15’s design and material but is it really worth it and if so, why other than just being new model.

I did finally upgrade my iPad Pro 10.5 to the new iPad 11 2024 and really was disappointed as it really wasn’t worth the money for what I use, so this one will be it for long time unless it dies.

16PM or will the 17PM really the upgrade that will be worth it and if so why?
If I had to do it all over again with my old iPhone 12 pr, I would have waited one additional year. That’s just me though. However I’ll keep my iPhone 16 Pro.

You’re easy confused then
Not at all, I don't think. It just seems weird to try to seem superior or brag about it, is all. Perhaps it's for non-enthusiasts who like to take advantage of new features. It must be dull seeing the new iOS come out, and half of it won't work on the phone.

not dull at all since I haven't missed a thing...even duller for those to keep buying every year things they cant afford to see something they wont even use...after hearing the latest on the 16 was even more reason to wait till next year ...you really do seemed confused...hopefully you get it sorted

I can afford it; for one, I see the differences in camera technology year after year. Indeed, sometimes it's not huge, but it's there. I can see the screen improvements, from the notch to the dynamic island. I can see the improvements in Bluetooth and wifi.

We're both making many assumptions, and some are failing at being clever. If you don't want to upgrade, whatever, I was saying I don't understand the posts. Are they supposed to be a brag? To impress someone for whatever reason?

Why wait for the 17? Why not the 30?

go back and reread, might help you to be not so confused...as far as affording it...buying something doesn't mean you can afford it

Cool, cool. Anyway, this is going in circles, so I'll tap out, and yes, I know what you mean about affording it. I can afford it. I buy a new one every year, have since 3GS, and I'm happy with it. I get not everyone does that, it's unusual but I can afford it.

Have a good one. Enjoy the old technology, I guess.

Enjoy throwing money away I guess

Does the average person think it’s impressive to buy a new $1500 phone every year that they can’t afford? I don’t understand.

You're the one who seems to want attention for still using a 12. The average person isn't making a thread about their new phone.

I didn’t realize how many didn’t get it, enlightened now how they sell so many unneeded phones.

Why is it a bad thing if we want to keep a phone for a few years instead of throwing money away and don’t want it?
It’s not a bad thing at all. But I’m responding to the guy who was saying someone else is throwing their money away.

I have a 12PM for 4 years, 87% battery, no complaints. I've ordered a 16PM because I have a lot of apple money. The more I think about it the more a 17PM makes sense, because since they did away with the S version which was an improvement of the model before keeping the same number adding an S.

It seems the 17PM will be the S version of the 16PM with more memory and fully designed around AI, which should be up and running by then.

I went from a 7Plus to the 12PM in 2020 so I think a 5 year interval or more is fine for me.

The 16PM will be going back.

I’d also like the rumored smaller Dynamic Island on the 17 Pro. Right now the Dynamic Island is still a decent size compared to just a hole punch on other phones.

Digestive health aside, I'm probably going to skip the 16PM as well... or at least, try to wait for a discount. If you happen to know an Apple Employee you can use their family and friends discount for 15%. Combined with a trip to Oregon in the US, it helps justify the price a little more.
