I went Gold with my Pro 12 Max and will either go Silver (I like the idea of a white back) or Sierra Blue with the 13 Pro Max.

I think the colors are decent but with a case on the phone the only exposure people will see is the camera. Is color really as important then?

I went caseless with my 12 and am considering doing the same with my 13.

There is also the clear case option that would show the colors.

Speaking of colours, what is the "Starlight" of the iPhone 13?

I'm trying to decide if it's the same as the "white" iPhone 12. From the official renders, there's not a lot of difference:

There seems to be a slight tinge of gold or champagne based on a few other photos I saw during the keynote.
The iPad mini starlight looks really beige/gold, much more than the iPhone. Their new undefined ‘à la space grey’ colour by the looks of it!

Loving the look of the Sierra Blue. Finally an awesome looking color for an iPhone Pro.

While I was wishing for an actual Black in the Pro, I think I will be going Graphite again. The Blue and Gold don't do it for me and as much as I like the Silver...all of those micro scratches on the bands (even though you can remove most of them) will drive me absolutely insane. I feel like I will spend more time polishing and worrying about it.

I don’t even own a case for my 12 Pro Max. Nor did I own one when I had 11 Pro Max. So to me colors matter, and this year is probably the worst year there has been. Graphite has always been quite ugly shade of gray to me and with the frosted back turning really light gray with any kinda light it gets even worse. Yet this year it’s the only dark(-ish) option there is. Feels really disappointing to give up Pacific Blue which I still enjoy looking at, and replacing it with baby blue or ugly gray.

Pacific Blue does look very different in real life to how it looks in renders though, so maybe hopefully Sierra Blue will end up looking better in real life.

I skipped the 11 pro (from the X) and went with the 12 pro last year. I liked the green a lot but held out another year foolishly thinking the notch / bezels would be smaller. I went with graphite to play it safe but would have went with the green if it was still available.

Color choices now? Underwhelming. I guess they are also playing it safe with these colors as most do go with a case.

I think ALL colors, regular and pro, are underwhelming. There's millions of colors and this is the best they can come up with? Maybe they have defective lighting in their design studios. The last phone that had awesome colors was the 8.

I also find the color choice of iPhone 13 underwhelming.

They look bland and lack personality. For such an expensive device (yes, even the base iPhone 13 is in absolute terms an expensive phone) they don't even look premium.

They just look... generic.

I think the colors of the 13 (non-pro) are much more underwhelming than the 13 pro. Just compare the two blues. I think the blue 13 non-pro is hideous. The 12 (non-pro) colors were a big selling point in my view (loved the green and purple). Perhaps Apple is trying to make the 13 non-pros a less interesting option…to push more people to the pro. I quite like the blue on the 13 pro.
The render looks bad for the 13 blue. But it looked nice in the presentation.

wanted to pick up a white/silver phone. will have to see what this starlight looks like. it has a gold/beige look to it and seems meh.

I go with the clear case my phones so color is important to me. But yeah, If I went with a silicone case….color would be almost irrelevant.
