From a year to year basis this might be one of the best upgrades from the last 5 years.
What makes you say that?

careful that you only use it for business dealings then at risk of audit.I upgrade every day. I just buy the base 128gb version now. Apple gives $720 trade in (it was $780 last year) plus gives u taxes backs. ($50). So I will get around $770 total credit applied towards $1100 iphone pro max
So $1099
The cost to use the iPhone pro max is roughly $300 a year.
I write off the entire $1200 purchase (business expense). Cause I own my own business. So it’s really “free” for me after tax deductions to get new phone every year.
always-on display, big improvement in camera's, small redesign, plus quite a few odds and ends. What makes you say that?
I used my XS Max all these years up until last month when I got the 13 Pro Max. I plan on using this another 4 years especially since it has a physical SIM card slot.I wouldn't be. Unless you're buying the absolute latest and greatest device, it's looked down on as not a good buy because there's absolutely NO WAY you can get use out of a previous generation device.
If it works for you and you're happy, that's what matters.
Depends very much where you live 😃 …. Not unusual for me to see broken down vehicle or an accident out of mobile range, usually someone will pass (including me) with a Satphone but this adds another option.Satellite is cool until you realize it’s unlikely you’d ever use it.
I’m holding out for the 15 ProMAX. And USB- C Thunderbolt speeds. And an actually improved CPU chipset.
I’m gonna try thisI wasn't going to and planned to keep my 13 pro max for at least another year or two but I can order a 14 pro max through Apple and get a total of $1000 for the trade in (Apple/T-mobile offer). So I figure, why not? I'll get a couple slight improvements and a brand new battery in a new phone for very little money upfront.
Interesting. I shoot a lot of RAW so I'll still enjoy that. But where is it stated that 48mp is limited to RAW only? All I see on Apple's specs sheet is that only the main camera is 48mp. Doesn't state that it's limited to DNG format.48MP camera is only for shooting ProRAW as a FYI. Most do not do that and will be limited to 12MP
Heck no. My iPhone 13 Pro Max will last me a few more years. The satellite service is a POS and not new or innovative. Devices that work much better have been available for many years. Check out REI.com. Apple's version looks like an undependable system tied to a device that will last a maximum of 60 hours on battery. I would not want to entrust my life to that if I often trekked into isolated wilderness areas. I would get a dedicated, proven device with a very long battery life instead. Apple is merely introducing a gimmick into an incremental iPhone update in hopes of selling more iPhones. As a 13 ProMAX owner that satellite feature is nice. But is anyone making the switch? If so why ?
48 megapixel camera.
Dynamic Island
Always on screen
Improved video capture
I failt to see the satelite SOS being a must have feature.
I'll never have a use for shooting in ProRaw and I don't even use RAW on canon R5 because I'm not a pro.48MP camera is only for shooting ProRAW as a FYI. Most do not do that and will be limited to 12MP
I find it makes a huge difference in night time photography on my 13 pro max. Way more detail and that’s before I even edit anything.I'll never have a use for shooting in ProRaw and I don't even use RAW on canon R5 because I'm not a pro.
