Would like to see Pages (if you don't have, then Word) and NYTimes on Safari. Thanks!! :D

Don't have Word or Pages installed, but here's the NYT.

Standard:

Max: Imageshack won't take the whole size, so it's scaled down.

For the love of Pete, put your images behind a link. Most of us don't have 27" displays.

Now that I've got the idea of screen real estate, can you tell me about the clarity (as the pictures seem compressed of some sort)?

Does the display still seem retina or even really clear with text, images, etc. at 'higher scaled resolution' and 'highest scaled resolution'?

Have you noticed any UI lag? Or are people just paranoid?

So far it seems comparable to the 15" Retina. I've used one daily since it shipped. I did have a 13" Air briefly (returned it to get the 13" Retina) and it did seem "snappier" on the OS animations like Mission Control, etc. On a daily basis, it's not an issue.

fan noise, heat ?

I haven't been using it enough (few hours) to notice anything. Nothing more than the 15" Retina, but it has been fairly warm and loud at times.

I've been using a 15" Retina at the maximum scale setting, and this seems no different. It's very crisp, clear, etc as long as the content you are viewing is optimized.

From my understanding, they double the resolution and then scale down to the native resolution for the two higher versions. This allows the sharpness.

Hows the weight?

Is it like coming from iPhone 4S to iPhone 5?

It's much lighter than the 15" Retina - definitely.

Before I had the 15" Retina, I had a 13" Air. This feels just slightly heavier. The form factor change (no wedge) seems great to me. It's still light enough to pick up in one hand without an issue.

For the iPhone comparison, it's almost like the 13" Air is the new iPod Touch, and the 13" Retina is the iPhone 5, while the 15" Retina is the older iPhone 4/4S. Sorta.

SSD capacity and vendor (i.e. Samsung / Toshiba).

Here's a speed test I did:

Nothing worse than an idiot complaining to someone who is voluntarily trying to help the community.

Oh well. The resolution is quite large... so I changed it.

Is the display quality identical to the 15" rMBP when you put them side by side? Same brightness, contrast, colors, temperature?

To my eyes (and I tend to be very picky) they seem nearly identical in those regards.

I haven't been able to get a calibration I like just yet on the 13", but it usually takes me a few tries to get it just right.

The only large difference to me is the black level. On the 15", sometimes it seems the display is almost too dark or deep black for blacks. On this 13", it seems to be just fine (so, better than the 15").

Got any games to test out?

Also in terms of screen real estate, is it as good as the 13" MBA? I don't want the Hi DPI native as that's less space, are the scaled options good?

And thanks for being helpful!

Hey, just letting you know the scaling options 1440x900 (same as Air) and 1680x1050 photos are posted above. They seem to be compressed so the quality isn't original.

And this is my previous conversation with him in this thread:
