How're you finding silverlight performance, in particular Netflix? How hot does it get? Fans kick in?

Adobe Creative Suite

No mention of that yet in thread so you might not be a designer, but I'm curious. Does Creative Suite 5 or 6 suffer for lack of dedicated GPU? Also looking to hear what the experience of using applications that have yet to be retina-optimized is like.

CS6 did a weird jump to add padding around UI elements, so the user loses real estate just be updating. Add some interesting effects of retina workspaces and non-optimization and it could be doubly or triply painful.

This is going to be a stretch of a question to ask - but will ask anyways :)

The sole purpose for me to purchase the rMBP would be to hook it up to three monitors. Have you tried that, by any chance? Or do you forsee if there might issue with any lag..

Thanks

So your idea would be to buy a rMBP(or cMBP) , buy a better SSD, install it myself ? Cause I know for a fact that the rMBP is quite a bitch to open, and to change parts in it must be a nightmare. So I guess you're referring to the cMBP.

in my opinion 16gb of ram is overkill, unless you're a big shot editor or something.

btw which laptop are you referring to wit the "(1 Tb HD, 256 Gb ssd, 16 Go RAM)"?

About changing storage: did it with my MB 13'' (2007) it was pretty simple. this time around I just need to the entirely computer :p

So which SSD would be better and cheaper?

is there a huge difference in performance between the i7 in the cMBP and the i5 in the rMBP?
I was referring to the regular 13" mbp and what upgrade you could install in it yourself with the price difference with the retina (so ssd, optibay with hard drive, more ram). with 500$ you can get a 1 TB hd, an optibay, a 256 Gb and 16 gB ram (and a usb caddy for your superdrive) that's what I meant.
but you probably don't really need all of it (and yes 16 gB is probably luxury)
look for guides for ssd, but it's always a lot cheaper than default upgrade anyway.
look the geekbench for performance,
http://browser.primatelabs.com/mac-benchmarks
2012 13" i7 is about 15% faster than i5, which isn't much given the price boost, compared to the first 15" being 60% faster (according to the raw number again).

The 15" can do it,and It's not officialy supported and very possibly not possible at all on the 13" model (may be different with or without the internal screen).
It's also probably bound to have all sorts of performance (and heat, and noise) issues.
