If you could only choose one (13" or 15"), based on your usage, which one would you keep and why? Why not the other?

Is the screen bezel smaller than previous 13" MacBook Pros? Have any other 13" MacBooks you could compare to with a picture?

the screen bezel has to be smaller, they have ditch around 1cm in most directions

Interested in SC2 performance as well. I know it's obviously not a gaming laptop, but decent sc would be nice! Can't wait for mine!

Expect "Ok" performance on Low and "ish-ish" on Medium.
People... it has the same freakin' CPU and GPU the normal MBP has.
What on Earth are you expecting? Check how the game run on cMBP 13" and there you have it!

That's what I figured. Is it as small as the 15" bezel?

I have no idea, it will be quite a while before they reach brazil. Wait a bit, no they arent available on mortar and brick stores, however they are available to order at apple.com/br, thing is the base model is R$7.000 which means U$ 3.500, so 2x as much as usual

Does fullscreen video look blurry? Say like a 1080p trailer from iTunes Movie Trailers playing fullscreen.

Thanks!

I haven't noticed any "blurry" video on either size retina, as long as it's HD quality. Generally movies/TV looks really good on the display.

I'd take the 15" if I had to. At work, I do a lot of heavy lifting with the machine all at the same time, so I need the extra performance. I'm using the 13" as a home / portable / personal machine. I initially purchased an Air for this purpose, but I couldn't stand the screen after using the 15" Retina every day.

Do you have the 128GB or 256GB SSD?

Can you encrypt your drive with Filevault and re-run the benchmark test? :D

it is, thing is with the pricing scheme it almost invites you to go for the rmbp 15
Sure does, especially with the education discount. However I never buy Macbooks new, I prefer to buy barely used ones at ~10-20% off and without taxes, with the exception of the 2011 MBA 13 when Amazon had the crazy 20% off with Kindle offer.

The 15 is about 1900 on CL now, let's see what the 13 costs in a month or two.

OCD Much?

It's already been discussed numerous places including this very thread that the command doesn't work on the new 13 retina......

I'm surprised that someone is already obsessing about who makes the aluminum in the macbooks...
So how do you check the display manufacturer in the new retina macbooks? Is this doesn't work in the 15" either?

It does work on the 15, just not on the 13, I don't think anyone has figured out yet how to do it on the 13. I would not be surprised given the hysteria around the 15 if Apple didn't block it on purpose

Is there any noticeable display lag specifically while using higher scaled resolution (1440 and 1680*1050)? what about with cpu/gpu intensive applications?
(question would be can you work on cpu/gpu hungry production application like video or sound editing at higher scaled resolution. that would be the point of buying this over a regular 13" mbp, more real estate to get things done whith the advantages of a small laptop. not watching zebras through a looking glass.)
In the previous scenario, does it get hot? how noisy is it when fan go full speed?

You might be interested in what I've had to say, because it sounds like I bought a rMBP 13" for the same reason you did. All I wanted was a 13" notebook with a higher resolution screen than 1280x800, but at the highest scaled resolution of 1680x1050 I did notice quite a bit of lag. 1440x900 is significantly better, but then the amount gained over the normal 13" is quite insufficient, and is just the same as the 13" Air. All the scaled resolutions obviously still look much better than the regular MBP though because of the HiDPI.
If you take a look through my previous posts from today I discuss it a bit more, but I'm returning this and going to try out the 15" in the hope that it is smoother at a higher resolution. :)
