Also, might consider buying it from John Lewis when they get stock as they have 2 year guarantees on their tablets, and great service in general.

So before this thread explodes does anyone remember if the UK offered a student discount on the iPad? I seem to remember it taking £16 off the 16GB version.
If anyone could confirm it was only £16 I'd appreciate it. £16 isn't enough to risk not pre-ordering tonight.

The student discount for an iPad was £15. I expect that will remain.
TopCashback is offering 2 or 3%, I think? Perhaps someone can verify?
This question always comes up and almost always the happiest people on the thread end up being the ones who pre-ordered. Some collect the night before

I have a black wifi 16gb iPad 2 - the wife and 3 year old will be inheriting this. Thinking about going white for the new iPad - especially so it will be a lot more distinguishable as the "new" one in the house.
Opinions on the white vs black would be welcome please to help me decide while waiting for pre-orders.
