Bbbb bbbut the new MacBook only came out this week.... surely you could send it for repair and use the computer you were using only 2-3 days ago until its fixed??
That'd be great, except my old MBA **** the bed a few weeks back, so I don't have a fallback computer...

Since I'm ready to return this laptop because of it's crappy battery life, I'm considering re downloading bootcamp and seeing if it still occurs. Therefore when I return my laptop I have 2 good reasons. :p

You do not need any reasons to return, simply say you dont like it and you can return until Jan 8th for holiday return policy.

Even if you preordered in October? Hm. Says I have until November 28th to return.
Based on apple website: Items purchased at the Apple Online Store that are received between November 10, 2016 and December 25, 2016, may be returned through January 8, 2017.
And i confirmed with one apple cs.

Hi, there are new news about it?
Ive been asking around and everyone else who downloaded bootcamp doesn't have a problem. I have a replacement laptop coming super late November and if this happens again I'm gonna be pissed

Yeah but he needs it for school.

IMHO it would be much wiser to return it and rent a computer in the meantime. Or buy an old MacBook Air somewhere.

So, like, a week.5 from now. Tough life, man. Dunno how you cope.

Seriously, though, sucks big-time. It's definitely not fun going that this type of thing on brand new gear.

Paying more money to rent a laptop? **** that. Buy a new computer of any sort from Apple and return it when your new 2016 mbp comes. That's rediculous.

I'm having the same problem with my left speaker. Didn't notice till yesterday when I cranked the volume in MacOS and noticed it had horrible distortion. I did install bootcamp, but I can't say I noticed anything wierd when in Windows, and I didn't play any music or anything or even use Windows as my daily go to OS. I can't see how a driver issue would instantly blow out the speaker, this sounds more like a quality control issue.

I have an appointment at the apple store tomorrow evening so I'll update when I hear what apple's remedy is going to be.

Add me to the list. Had odd popping in Windows 10, led to reduced sound on my right speaker now in both OS...... Damn.

Add me to the list too :/. Had odd popping in Windows 10 (need bootcamp for egpu / work), led to reduced sound on the right.

Now I notice in windows if you do the speaker test on "quadrophonic" speaker setting sounds perfect left and right all tests, music and other others exhibit the reduced sound (like just lower range frequencies (low mids, no treble). If you run the test with it set to "stereo" it's super loud across the board, listening to music and other things sounds perfect both sides but very trebbly / tinny. Possibly speaker setup uses two speakers on each side to obtain volume / soundstage.

Odd in OSX sometimes just shutting down / restarting it's perfect normal both sides using slider to move left and right without any issues, after sometime the right speaker cuts / drops to just the lower range frequencies. Software? Driver? Reboot seems to bring it back for some time.

Strange.

My speakers went from sounding staticy on the right to 30% maximum volume. **** my new MBP is coming in a week or two and if this happens again I'm going to be beyond annoyed.

This isn't encouraging when I was hoping to put Windows 10 on mine when it arrived.

Have any of you suffering the issues tried resetting the NVRAM?

Those having the problem, Could you check what frequencies are problematic?
As I wrote elsewhere, I used this frequency sweep to find a little buzzing around 500 Hz and then a much louder one between 1000-1200 Hz.
I also have windows 10 on bootcamp but didn't notice a popping sound.

My static problem seemed to go away, but now the speaker does not go beyond 70% ish.

Just got done with my Apple Genius Bar appointment. They don't have any parts for these MacBooks yet, also since I have a BTO machine they didn't have any to swap it with. What they did was have me order a replacement machine and then put notes in on my machine I'm allowed to return it late. So basically new machine comes in, I swap my stuff, bring in the broken speaker one for a refund. All and all really not that bad of a deal since I get to keep using mine and I get a new one as a replacement instead of having a repair.

Not sure what caused it, I'm still thinking quality control issue over bootcamp breaking the speakers. I booted into bootcamp and had the same distortion on the left speaker, so I think mine was just bad from the start.

Hope the rest of you get a repair solution that works out for you.
