Well if this is true for all, sadly that is the nail in the coffin for my wanting one. I have already upgraded my space on the 2015 model I have now.

In all fairness, this product is not ready. I can understand a regular "Macbook" for your average hipster, but this is a "pro" device. You should need no dongle, you should be able to upgrade at least the SSD.

This is cool and all, but I personally would prefer a SSD that I could potentially replace if needed/wanted.

Further solidifies my decision to order a 2015 MacBook Pro a few minutes ago that much better.
Hey guys, I know this sucks, and it does... But Apple probably wouldn't be able to get higher speeds over 2,000 MBps speeds if you had a separate SSD module... So its speed over userbility there. We know what Apple choose.
...and the only drive that requires a complete mainboard replacement when it dies.

Folks, as someone who has been in the industry for a while (probably longer than most have been alive), let me be clear. DO NOT STORE EVERYTHING ON YOUR LAPTOP. We are in this wonderful world where we can store things on the cloud or offline. I highly recommend that. Of course having things local is helpful for to keep productivity high on the work at hand, but everything else does not have to be so. Buy SSD to meet the needs of your day to day work and a little more. Then develop a strategy to archive older projects/documents. I maintain redundant copies of everything on a backup drive at home and another in the cloud. And I don't keep everything on my laptop/desktop.
Then you can go to Apple website and buy their newest book and look at the non-fried Macbook pictures while crying because you'll have to sell the other kidney to buy yourself a new one.
Then you pay $310 for an apple depot flat rate repair.

Until anyone else puts a Samsung 960 in their laptop. It's not like Apple has ever made their own SSDs. They just pay to get first access to them so they can ship first.
