Just about everything is going up because of these tariffs. Was just talking my local bike shop, they are no longer selling kids bikes because they have gone up about $120 each. So, I a nice kids bike that would cost about $100, is $220 now.
[doublepost=1567202470][/doublepost]

I'm assuming you forgot the /s...
Are you serious ? I thought bikes would only have cost 10% more ?? I am confused

Also, when it really comes down to it, the people are the ones that will allow a recession to go down if it ever does actually happen. Stop maxing out your credit cards and refinancing all your loans. Debt. Is. Bad. Common sense, right(more like “uncommon” sense)?

That’s cuz I’m a trump voter. Must defend trump to the death! And Russia!! Long live Russia! Oh, and I’m blatantly racist!

If you don’t agree with this strategy, that’s fine. Just let us know if you ever come up with a better ‘strategy’.
I've mentioned it many time but you keep looking over it:

The answer isn't tariffs. The answer is major incentives for companies to manufacturer elsewhere while pushing for a better deal.

It’s nice that you wanna be nice. That’s what Obama did too and we got screwed. I mentioned it before and you looked over it. You can’t do incentive-based business against a country that doesn’t even play by the rules in the first place.

What then? What should he do? 500 billion dollars a year are enriching Chinese dictators and gutting the American economy. How should he fight back?
Yes. Let Americans pay more for stuff. That will teach everyone a lesson.

Only one laughing is USSR.

I hope a product made in America takes market share from Apple whose products are made by people who commit suicide the working conditions are so horrible in a country run by a brutal regime that targets homosexuals, other races, other religions.
I mean, Trump isn't exactly Cesar Chavez

Oh! He said it! The “R” word(Russia).

Right! They’re the ones who got this orange monster voted in the first place! Ugh, I can barely stand the stench that a Trump voter carries around.

KAAAGAAAAA!!!! LONG LIVE RUSSIAAAAA!!!! I’M A RACIST AND PROUD OF IT!!!!!?!??’nccbcmdudnf

Pitiful...

Note: USSR ceased to exist 30 years ago. In case ya didn’t know ;)

Well if only China would cooperate this wouldn't happen. No sarcasm.

That would make a lot more sense if Trump had a list of demands he wanted them to meet. He doesn’t.

He’s made some noise about currency manipulation & ip theft, he’s never spelled out a remedy.

This is not normal. He’s not even supposed to have the power to levy taxes or tariffs except in cases of national threat. If his minions weren’t so afraid of his gullible voters, they’d have checked him on this.

So you don't trust the same companies we give huge tax cuts to? You don't trust Americans to do the right thing even if they are incentivized by money?

Lol you can’t just give someone “a list of demands” and expect them to follow it when they don’t even play by the rules in the first place. That’s what Obama did and we got screwed.

Please explain how taxing Americans helps solve this problem.

Thanks.

That’s typically how tariffs work.

I don’t think you know what lol means.

We have a $418 billion trade deficit with China. We lost 5 million manufacturing jobs since 2000. The middle class has disappeared in the USA because of WTO bringing in China and NAFTA.

The middle class is alive ...just not well. The problem is, they have to work 2-3 jobs to make ends meet, and that is even with buying cheap goods from China. Imagine when then middle class has to pay 50% more for every day items, and when those items are super-expensive because they are made in the USA?

Maybe you should turn your head to the Corporate America who are reaping the financial benefits of tax cuts and keeping the money instead of paying their employees a living wage.

Ok, now I’m even starting to get confused(maybe that’s what you’re trying to do?). Again, none of that matters, when China doesn’t play by the rules. Wouldn’t make any difference.

And yet your tRUMP is putting us further and further in debt. He's spending money we don't have, cutting taxes we need, and the deficit is ridiculous under tRUMP. What's good for the government is good for the people!

Some people max credit cards because they have no other choice. Our "great" economy ain't so great. Unemployment is low, but people aren't making enough money at those jobs to live.

There are also plenty of medical bills we have to pay for as well the only thing that is paid for is doctor visits and operations. Dental, physio, chiro, therapy etc you have to pay for or have benefits that pay for a portion of it through work. I'm not going to family doctor or getting an operation on the daily so it's not exactly a costs savings.
Of course, different provinces may cover some things others don’t since health care is provincial. In Ontario children, elderly, disabled, and those on assistance often have some level of care for the examples you list, and more. There are also exemptions for medically-necessary services, e.g. if you have a hip replacement you also get physio, cleft lip/palate has coverage for orthodontics, speech therapy, etc.

Your premise is that you can't trust China. Fine. But it also sounds like you don't trust American billionaires to move their manufacturing out of China even if we heavily incentivize it.

My point: What's the difference between the evil Chinese and American billionaires if they're both not going to change because of money? They're ALL evil (okay, maybe not all but most).

Taxing Americans doesn’t solve the problem. Standing up to China does. Let us know when you come up with a better idea.

And correct! We give them demands, and the tariffs back up those demands. As you just said, that’s how tariffs ‘work’.

Eh... go ahead and vote in the socialists and we’ll all be speaking Chinese in a decade.

And making less money too.

Really?

Your post makes no sense, you are lost in the past. Try getting to know the modern world. China's "slave labor" are hundreds of millions of people who have gone from being poor to reaching the middle class. Those people are the biggest market in the world for US goods. You'd wall off the USA from China, thereby ensuring Americans will lose access to the biggest market opportunity of the century. Whose costing the USA jobs? Attitudes like yours.
You realize those people don’t want Apple products? They are rallying their people to buy Chinese goods.

Who cares? What’s your point? He’s still a million times better than Curly, Larry and Moe that we have running against him. One of those ding dongs gets in and initiates the GND and we’ll be 100+ tril in debt instantly.

Ah yes. The good ol “they don’t have a choice” argument. Everyone has a choice. If you max out your cc and screw yourself in the process, it’s your own fault. Nobody makes your choices for you. Just you.

Your tRUMP is making choices for me. Bad ones. Daily.

If the gov sinks more money into incentives for businesses without doing anything about China, it’s a total waste. You get the companies over here and China still will continue to steal from us and screw us. No difference is made. Just a waste of the taxes I pay every month. China must be subdued before any progress can be made. How do you think we got into this position in the first place? We use to have all the companies here. And then China started getting sneaky. We failed to do anything about it, and now we’re in a mess. Now we have to do something about it, and of course it’s gonna be a little ugly cuz we made the mistake of putting it off for so long.

If American companies could be trusted, they would move manufacturing out of China, thus cutting them off of our intelligence. Of course, we all know we can't trust the greed of our own corporations.

Apple, Walmart and everyone else needs to show the tariff on the sales receipts a separate line item.

So when you by a $100 you can clearly see an item called "Trump's Tariff $15.00".

Then, when the midwest farmers see this on their Walmart receipts they will be in a confused state of shock thinking "But Trump said the Chinese pay the tariffs."

Seriously, if the tariff showed up as a line item you can bet the trade war would end in weeks.
