Your tRUMP is making choices for me. Bad ones. Daily.
No he’s not. It’s a free country. You can go out and do whatever the heck you wanna do. And he’s made it easier to do that now than it ever was with Obama. If you believe that your right to make your own choices has been taken away from you, you’re falling for the garbage that all the social-justice warrior democrats are feeding you.

Wow, it's hard to understand someone who used "social justice warrior" as an insult.

hint: social justice is good. fascism is bad.

The logic of the rabid right, punish America because china is "cheating" us. Sigh.
Right? How about punishing China?

For those that say we are hurting them and because of it they're going to cave, please provide sources.

Couldn’t have said it better myself

But, but, but... you said we should be nice and not punish China.

How do you think we got into this position in the first place? We use to have all the companies here. And then China started getting sneaky. We failed to do anything about it, and now we’re in a mess. Now we have to do something about it, and of course it’s gonna be a little ugly cuz we made the mistake of putting it off for so long.

Do you seriously think it's all China's fault? China did not get to the position that they are in by happenstance. It's the pure greed of the American companies that put China where they are. Wall Street demanding ever increasing profits. "Maximizing shareholder value" they say. Rewarding CEOs for gutting companies.

There are 2 incidents, that because of their proximity, will always stick in my mind about the absurdity of Wall Street. WorldCom filed Chapter 11 after trading on a Friday and the stock value went up on Monday morning. Around the same time IBM published their earnings. They were not what the "analysts" wanted. It was still a very healthy profit, just not as much as Wall Street wanted. The IBM stock plunged.

If American companies could be trusted, they would move manufacturing out of China, thus cutting them off of our intelligence. Of course, we all know we can't trust the greed of our own corporations.
China’s stealing from companies that are in America. Makes no difference. Again, think of how we ended up in this situation to begin with.

No, I said incentivize American companies to move away from manufacturing in China which would then hurt China. I said that very clearly multiple times now.

Yes US corporate greed. That is how it began and that's why it will never stop. Fine, beat China but when we move to another country, they'll do the same and we'll repeat the cycle because of American greed.

It doesn’t matter if China isn’t the only one at fault. They’ll be a parasite on the US as long as nobody ever confronts them.

Hm, so now you’re saying that you don’t trust American companies? I thought you said we should incentivize them to come back? But now you’re saying you don’t even trust them?

Fascism was socialist in both Italy and Germany.
This ^^^ :D

I don't trust anyone running this world, including Trump, China or huge American corporations.

I do not disagree with the policy. I disagree in how he is executing it. Those jobs are not going to come back if we go into a recession.
The problem will never be solved if someone doesn’t have the spine to stand up and do something about it. With this, we must stop thinking short term.

Apple, Walmart and everyone else needs to show the tariff on the sales receipts a separate line item.

So when you by a $100 you can clearly see an item called "Trump's Tariff $15.00".

Then, when the midwest farmers see this on their Walmart receipts they will be in a confused state of shock thinking "But Trump said the Chinese pay the tariffs."

Seriously, if the tariff showed up as a line item you can bet the trade war would end in weeks.
So it is true. Americans no longer have the intestinal fortitude to do what needs to be done when faced with a threat. We are now so short sighted and self absorbed.

Bahahaha you’re complaining about a tax increase that ain’t even happening when the alternative is all of us would’ve been speaking Chinese in a decade. That’s what people just don’t get. Thank heck someone showed up in office who’s got the ballz to confront China.

... speaking Chinese in a decade? There are no words of reason which can touch you.

Long term strategy. China has been eating our lunch for decades.

Your kids will thank you. Or, if you aren't having kids, other Americans will appreciate what President Trump is finally doing - standing up to China.

But carry on with your uninformed snark.

Eating our lunch........ By making our stuff cheaper than we could and selling it to us in exchange for paper? Which they then use to purchase our financial assets? I fail to understand exactly where we're losing here.

If they're "eating our lunch" so badly, then why don't you move there? Evidently because you prefer it here. As does anyone who's sane, so... The entire premise is invalid.

Q.E.D.
