I've been buying space grey stuff for a long time now, I think its time for a change back to silver as everything now seems to be grey! I still wish they'd do some sort of black version of their laptops though.

Both are nice, I have the 13" mbp in space grey so I opted for silver with my new 16". Silver looks more timeless in my opinion whereas space grey is more modern/sleek looking. Both are nice options that you really can't go wrong with tbh.

I've had silver everything from Apple... every iphone that's had a silver/white option and every silver/white ipad. Macbooks have been silver. So, I went for Space Grey this time and didn't have an option really as from the refurb store. I do like it, very stealthy Batman-esque.

I think I like the classic Silver better, but just ordered a new SG 13" MBP just to change things up. Even though I've had SG iPhones and SG iPads I've never had a SG MBP.

benefit of silver is it doesn’t show up scratches / nicks around the USB ports as much as the SG.

This. I like the look of the SG but it does show up scratches especially around the USB-C ports. That being said, you will be fine if you are careful with it.

My next MacBook Air or Pro is going to be silver for sure.

My work computer is a silver 15” MPB. I wanted to switch it up and go space grey for my personal 13” MBP. Can’t wait for it to arrive and compare in person!

I just bought space grey in part for resale value, it seems it’s the hotter trend nowadays 😑

One thing I dislike about space grey or at least the new 2016-2019 macbooks is how dust/dirt particles are so much more visible. It requires constant cleaning that I hadn’t noticed before with silver models.

Anyone else notices this?

My MacBooks are always silver. Space gray reminds me of cheap plastic Windows laptops. Silver reminds me of a MacBook. This being said someone in the forums posted a nice picture of a space gray MacBook with decals to make it have a woodgrain finish. The contrast between space gray and the woodgrain finish looked really nice. I say get what you like but my vote is silver.

Oh yes, I definitely noticed it. I currently don’t use my laptops in clamshell mode, so I noticed it right away. It was a good reminder to take my microfiber cloth to the silver MBP more often when I receive it.

The current design looks much better in space gray. I feel like it was imagined and designed in that color. The silver looks like an afterthought.

I’ve had both, the space grey looks better IMHO.

If you’re not careful with your devices and prone to scratching, don’t get a space grey. Or get one and put a clear skin on it (I would do this either colour).

Interesting - what makes you say that? Not questioning your statement as wrong - genuinely interested! 🤔✌️

The current design? It's changed since 2006? I know the smaller bezels but I mean other than that.

Edit: I forgot they removed the lighted Apple logo

😂
👀😝
I'm sort of joking but not really. The MacBook has always had a certain look even though it has had some slight changes. I personally love it and don't see a need for a new design just to be new. If they ever discontinue silver I'll be very upset. The one thing I don't like about my Mac mini is it's space gray.

You're not wrong! :D same design for over a decade!
I'm leaning towards silver this time for the 13". I wouldn't for the 16" -- too large a panel for a light, reflective colour in my opinion

Well you have to remember the 16" is just a 15" without the bezels. I do like the looks of the smaller MacBook. If I got the SG on the larger one I would have to do something with decals like the wood grain one I saw. To me the SG just looks like black plastic but of course that's just my bias 😂

The 16" is larger in every way to the 15"
I have space grey now, after always silver - but that was before there was a choice! 😄 Thinking of going silver and retro again!

Silver...!!!

SG gave me the impression that it's a fingerprint and scratch magnet a la Piano Black...

I didn't realize that. All the initial reviews said it was the 15" with no bezels but it appears to be about a quarter of an inch larger. Sometimes I look at the space gray and think maybe it would be more modern looking but I know if I got one I would regret not going silver.
