I didn't realize that. All the initial reviews said it was the 15" with no bezels but it appears to be about a quarter of an inch larger. Sometimes I look at the space gray and think maybe it would be more modern looking but I know if I got one I would regret not going silver.
It's not hugely larger to be fair, but it is thicker, and heavier. It was something that I was more aware of than oher people probably - I have a 15" as the daily workhorse and I find it too bulky to transport out of the office. It's a large footprint at home too.
But for sure it's not massively bigger so if you don't care about portability and footprint it makes sense!
Cheers ✌

From another post here the 16" is larger than the 2018 MacBook Pro but actually smaller than the 2015 model. I didn't even know the sizes changed then. I didn't find my 15" MacBook pro from 2015 too bulky to carry around but I guess it depends on the person. Maybe it's because I was used to carrying around a huge 17" gaming laptop so my 15" MacBook felt small and light.

I also had a 13" MacBook Pro so I think I know what you mean about the footprint though. It felt more personal like a laptop that doesn't requre a table or desk. I would sit on the couch and use it but not so much with my other laptops. I hope one day the 13" MacBook Pro gets some serious love from Apple. I couldn't pass up buying one if it did!

I know exactly what you mean and that's a great phrase "it felt more personal".
Like if I'm on the couch watching TV or partner game, the 15" doesn't lend itself to be used on the arm of the chair or on your lap.
Which is why I'm looking at the 2020 MBP 13". I was contemplating the 8th Gen processor as it's so cheap, but the performance of the 10th gen is hard to pass up! (faster than my i7 for single-core tasks)

I’m really sad that the 13" only got a minor spec bump. I was hoping Apple would give it love like they did with the 15". This being said if they don’t come out with an update by the end of the year I’ll probably end up buying it. If you can afford it I'd say 10th gen is the only way to go. If that's too pricey look at the Air.

I think the 10th gen is a good upgrade, but do you mean larger screen like 14"? I was disappointed at first, but now I'm thinking it is probably for the best. I don't like the 15" size, and maybe the 14" wouldn't be a good fit for portability. Making it smaller would have been impressive!

Not just a larger screen. The 2020 16" while slightly bigger than the 2018 15" it's actually smaller than the 2015 15" model. The 14" model would have been about the same size as the 13" model so portability wouldn't have been an issue compared to the current model. Yes perhaps making it the size of a 12" laptop could be a possibility and while I would prefer the larger screen, that would still be better choice than the outdated model they are currently selling. I'm going to be positive and think that due to current conditions, Apple had supply chain issues and was unable to get it into production. Since the butterfly keyboard had issues I think Apple decided that they could not delay this even if it was just to fix the keyboard and a minor spec bump. Every year they sell the old keyboard means years that they'll have to service it for free.
