It will be a different debate when the 64GB iPhone arrives.

Hopefully when I buy my next one we'll have a 128GB option...finally be ablet o carry all my music, apps, and not have to worry about running out of space when shooting video.

I'd just go for the 32. Then you can just let it fill up without worrying about it. I remember with my iPod Touch, I'd always have to restore it every once in a while and just start off fresh since I had barely any space left.

Right now on my 32GB iPhone, I still have a good 10-11GB free, which I can fill with additional with movies, songs, pictures, videos, etc.

Especially if you plan keeping your phone for 2 years or more (like me), then I would highly suggest the 32GB.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

I find that I download many useless apps and they take up alot of room. Add musicas well and 32gb will fill up.

I'm going with the 16 GB as that is what size iPad I have and I haven't even come close to filling it and I have tons of apps, pics, books, magazines, comics, and some music...you only need 32 if you're putting movies, etc. on there...which I wouldn't recommend...

Speak for yourself, I won't really be happy until there's an iPhone that can hold all of my music + ~20GB for apps, pics, and shooting video, so...128GB is about where I need to be, which may line up for the 6, which is the next iPhone I'll probably buy.

Remember what Bill Gates was reputed to have said (but actually didn't)!

You can never have so much storage/memory that you can't subsequently use it all up! (Though I have to say 128GB would suit me fine for my current needs too)

Which is why I'm amazed when all these people talk about 16GB being too much. I've been telling people there needs to be at least a 64GB option to come close to my needs for years on here and keep getting the "I only need 4/8/16/32GB!" Funny how the size of their needs keeps increasing though...

Unless you want to load music, vids, etc on your iPhone then 16GB is just fine. I have a 16GB and I have an iPod classic that I use for my music.

if money doesn't matter to you, sure get 32. but 16 is fine. i have 74 apps, including tomtom gps, 1055 songs, and some pictures i took with 3 gigs to spare. if i ever want to take more pictures or movies, i can just remove songs, since 1000 songs is about 3 days worth of music anyways. plus, you can stream your music via audiogalaxy and have 99999 songs at your disposal online. of course, then you'd have to leave your laptop on.

I was faced with this question 2 days ago. I chose to go with the 32gb. I really didn't base it off how much space I'm going to use. I based it on the resale value. I'd rather spend an extra $100 now and get more out of it later when I sell it.

For me, the 16GB is more than enough. Since I have an iPod Classic, the majority of my music is on that device. So I really just load my iPhone with essential songs that I always want to have with me. I don't watch any videos on my phone (less YouTube ocassionally). Additionally, I don't shoot any video at all on my phone. I do use it to take random photos when I'm out though. I also don't have an abundant amount of apps installed. Currently I have about 8GB of free space on my iPhone. And that's with 60 apps, 322 songs, and 187 photos.

If I wanted more apps on my phone, or if I was an avid video shooter, I probably would go for the 32GB.

I HAVE THE 16GB model.

80 apps (Navigon itself takes 2GB)
527 songs
2 movies
421 photos

still have 4GB space left. . don't see why people need 32GB. . I never had to worry about space on mine.

Why people need 32GB?

Well only my music takes 14G. I do have a separate tiny ipod for the gym, but for everyday my ipod is iPhone, and i love music :D What would i do with 16GB? lol

Let's see...I have 90GB of music. And about 600GB of my TV shows and movies I've ripped. What would I do with 16GB?

So, just out of curiosity, how much video can you shoot and save with a 16gb? I am basing my question on having less than 500 songs, and maybe 5-10 additional apps than what comes loaded on the phone.

Go for the bigger capacity. Never hurts to have extra room for movies/music/etc. With my old 16gb 3G, I was constantly having to delete apps/movies in order to keep some free space available.

Also, whenever it comes time to sell it, the 32gb will always fetch a higher amount as well.

Hope you listen to the 90GB of music you have, as opposite to merely 'having' it!

Perhaps I should have expressed it clearer: only my music which i uploaded to the iPhone takes 14GB. As in the music I want to take with me everyday. ;)

I was surprised by how fast my phone filled up. I find I do alot of photo, music, video dumps with my 16gb just to keep up. That $100 seems alot less daunting in hindsight.

Makes it a hell of a lot easier when I can bring it all with me.

That's true but then life is a compromise. I wouldn't mind bringing all of my music with me, but in that case i'd have to use an iPod. Which means having two devices in my pockets, iPod and the phone - whereas i'd rather have only one, hence was the reason for purchasing the iPhone and compromising.

On the other hand, when the choice was between 16GB and 32GB iPhone, the price difference between them was £80 - and so there the compromise was different, because it was a very reasonable price for a double storage capacity.

32gb

I have the iPhone 4 32gb
With 119 apps
2265 photos
4194 songs
And 3 videos(small)

I only have 1.2gb left and keep getting more on there so can't wait for the 64gb or bigger iphone!

I went with 16GB. I have a 32GB ipod touch and am planning on getting the iPhone 5, whenever it comes out
