I got the 6 Plus, and I’ve had the largest iPhone that I could get ever since then. I was going to switch to Android and get a Galaxy Note if Apple didn’t ship a large phone. I’ve flirted with going back to the smaller iPhones, but I returned them and got the Max. I love the bigger screen for reading, photos, videos, everything. It’s never been uncomfortable or bulky to me. I don’t have big hands, and I use the large phones easily.

All that said, you’re just going to have to try it for yourself.
I had a play in an Apple Store last week with the 16 Pro and Pro Max. I was certainly leaning towards the PM due to the bigger screen and knowing it has the longest battery life possible. Also taking photos will be more enjoyable due to the size and streaming media etc. The battery life does frustrate me with my current iPhones as cannot last even one day without top up charging.

Oh interesting. Care to share your reasons why please? I’m leaning towards upgrading my iPhone X to the 16 PM.
Purely comfort. While I liked the bigger display of the 16 PM, it really felt cumbersome and annoying as soon as I left my apartment. Putting in pocket would drag my pants corner down, holding it while holding a coffee on the other hand made texting a nightmare. So just uncomfortable. None of these issues on the regular 16 Pro. And the battery on the 16 Pro has been awesome

Fair enough. I mean it’s a big change in size coming from an x model! My work xr model feels a lot bigger and I struggle with that using on one hand. The Pro model is even bigger. I cannot afford to change my iphone every 2-3 years so really want to make sure whichever model I go with it’s going to hopefully last a good 4-5 years min. The Max battery seems a game changer.

Makes sense, altho tbh, everyone speaks of the amazing battery life of the 16 Pro Max, but in my two week experience, it wasn't that remarkable, or maybe the smaller 16 Pro is overachieving but I never felt a massive difference in battery life between both. At least that was my experience.

I think I’m definitely keeping my 16 Pro Max. I have one more week to decide but the bigger screen and amazing battery outweighs how large the phone is. This is my main device I use everyday for almost everything. I want the bigger screen and awesome battery life. I like having peace of mind when I leave the house for the day, the battery will last all day. I’ve had this beast for a week now and the lowest my battery dropped to before charging overnight was 65%!

The battery is a huge selling point for me for the Pro Max series. I can't use a smaller phone!

I’m in the same boat. I’ve been using a 13 Pro and roughly that size for years. Wife has 16 Pro Max and for me ideally I’m probably good with 16 Pro, but I want the 256gb size to future proof it and use for 2-3 years (currently use about 75gb of space on my 128gb 13 Pro).

In my head, paying $1100 for that Pro 256 seems like the worst bang for the buck, so I’m thinking hey…might as well just go a hundo more and get the big boy with the same storage.

Only negative, to me, with the Pro Max is the size when placing it in a pocket or one handed typing and usage (which I do a lot when shopping or walking).

Exact same issue I am facing, I can't decide between the two!

After always using relatively larger phones, and in the need of a new phone, I purchased the 16 pro last week. I instantly regreted it, so I went back to my Apple store and paid extra to swap out for the PM. I'm a happy bunny now.:)

Nice! Pleased to hear this. I think I’ll be looking to do the same and reward myself with the 16 PM :)

I currently have the 13 Pro. I'll need to go back to the Apple Store to compare but I believe I am going to upgrade to the 16 Pro. I remember going from the 5 to the 6+ and feeling the new iPhone was like having a surfboard in my pocket, especially after adding the case. Ultimately, I returned the 6+ to get the 6. Extra screen real estate is nice but I need something that is very portable and comfortable. I already have a MBA and iMac to do real work. On the other hand, I'm open to the idea of the 16 PM as long as it feels right.

Why not have a try and hold one? I tried the 16 PM in an Apple shop and yes despite being considerably larger than my current x I think one does get use to it and compromise on the weight/size for the screen size and battery longevity.

Yea, that's what I intend to do, check it out. I remember from when I was shopping for my Apple Watch 10 I looked at both but didn't have any clear feelings either way. I do remember that the back of the 16 PM (at least in White Ti) seemed more stark than the 16 Pro. I hope to try out putting it in my pocket without the Apple people freaking out. Would like to hear your impression when you get yours.

I’m just opting for both at this point. I can’t decide. Some days I want the max and some days I want the pro.

I went from a 14 Pro Max to a 16 Pro.
There’s quite the drag :)
I miss:
The big screen - when using Waze, watching videos
The battery - quite obvious
The speakers - the sound is somehow fuller
The keyboard size - made less mistakes when typing

I don’t miss:
The darn size and weight - impossible to put in your pockets or while running figuring out where to place it
How hard it is to reach
The size when I held it to my face

I wish I could afford both to be honest.

Apple will certainly let you put the phone in your trouser pocket, I did when I was there. The phone (16 PM) did fit in my pocket fine (was wearing jeans). Yes it is a bigger device etc but hopefully all the pro's will outweigh the few negative's imo. My brother got the 15PM about a year ago and said you just get use to the size etc and seems to like it, although he does seem to change his phone a lot more than I do.

Did you make a decision as to which one you want to buy? I am in the same position as you but seem to be leaning towards the PM due to the battery life and bigger screen. I bought the Apple watch for running so you don't have to carry your phone with you

Hmm a tricky one - can you swap the Pro back to the 16 PM? Despite being hard to reach with one handed use, my xr phone is the same and have owned it for over 3 years.

Hi Richard - I will be interested to hear which one you went for? I think the PM is the one to opt. Certainly have a feel with the devices in an Apple shop etc before taking the plunge. The bigger screen and better battery life seem game changers.

Hi there - how are you getting on with your new 16 PM? Getting use to the weight and bigger size? I am thinking of coming off the fence and upgrading to the 16 PM with 512 storage. Coming from an iphone X I think I will really enjoy the new upgrades and phone (my first PM model)!

Well I am considering next year's iPhone might actually have some changes.
And since my wife has a regular 14 iPhone, I might just keep this one this year, and next year donate the 16 pro to my wife and get the 17 pro max.
14 Pro max to 16 pro - not much of a deal, especially that Apple Int. is not available in EU.
For my use cases it's quite a dumb upgrade.

Fair enough, if you have 14 PM then why not. I have the X and fed up of the dismal battery life along with the front facing camera failing to work for over a year now. It is time the phone is replaced and don't think I want to hold out for another year for the 17 PM. Everyone's situation is different I guess.
