I have no idea about iphones from italy without contact. And I refuse to fall for steve jobs trick and sign up to a year and a half contract and pay far more than I need.

But you fall for a very obvious scam. You REALLY were born yesterday.

p.s Its not Apple that sets the length of the contract, but the Telephone companies. I'm on a 6month contract here in Denmark

I have been scammed by this company as well, I have sent letters to Abbey National, Watchdog and the Metropolitan Police, I have been in contact with HSBC but someone very kindly told me I cannot get my money back. Has anyone had there money refunded from HSBC?

I fortunately only ordered the Wii Fit, I do not know how some idiot could do this to people, now I will never purchase anything off the internet unless its a company I know.

ISHOP UK is a scam!

Maybe all people that have been scammed should arrange to meet up and spend some time in London and go and visit Abbey/Police?

Personally I think you are born yesterday if you fall for getting binded into months of contracts from mobile companies.

You were also born yesterday if you don't realize apple were privy to the deals they signed with each of the mobile dealers and knew exactly what they were signing away their product for. Apple had complete control of how to release their product, they had several phone companies over a barrel, and could have stipulated a pay as you go release from the outset if it had been beneficial for them. Can't even buy an iphone from the apple site now...

Watchdog is a good idea, however I think the existence of message boards like this and others should do enough to end ishopuk's trading altogether. Anyone searching the name now will see these boards and realize it is a scam. The owner still has the site down, so is obviously aware the game is up. I was able to get my money back from my bank thankfully, and so was the other person who transferred £8.
My bank are also investigating the fraud.

If someone would like to pass these details onto the police, my bank is already investigating ishopuk, it has a fraud investigation team.

Here are the details of ishopuk's two false accounts I know about. After I transferred funds and returned to the "check your order page" it continued to say "still awaiting payment" and the account had changed to a new bank account. Initially it was a halifax account, and then was showing a abbey account.

Bank Name: Halifax
Sort Code: 11-18-11
Account Number: 24415739

Bank Name: Abbey
Sort Code: 09-01-27
Account Number: 10748695

I agree totally with the poster who thought, at the very least the two banks concerned here with the fraudulent and suspicious accounts should immediately block the account, investigate and shut them down, I had initially contacted Halifax, but they said the investigation has to begin from the bank which has been defrauded. I am sure my bank will be in touch with both Halifax and Abbey to investigate and pass on the information, if more people report this fraud to their banks, then Halifax and Abbey will take more notice and probably freeze the accounts and investigate.
BTW, Im pretty sure "Tim Blake" or whoever is running ishopuk is logged in here under a name and trying to disturb things, he's either someone trying to "play down" the fraud by mocking and blaming the victims or he's someone posing as a poster saying its a waste of time to try and get your funds back. Take note for sure I definitely DID get my funds re-transfered and so did another guy from earlier in the message board, so do please try, Im also aware that some banks may not, but to try and report that these accounts are fraud to your bank to help stop the fraud. Thanks

After reading this thread, I feel for most of you that got scammed however, with every post from "ishopukisfake" it's ever evident as to why he/she got scammed. Anyone that thinks that A) a bank transfer is safer than a CC transaction, or B) that PayPal gives your CC details to the payee (I'm sure if you get scammed from "paypal" is because of the many spoof emails out there from hackers asking you to confirm your PayPal details by clicking their 'special link'), or C) actually thought that site looked professional, or D) thought that buying an iPhone from an unauthorized source would actually work out, is bound to make a poor purchase decision. Wait, I lost myself in that run-on sentence. :D In short, I'm not surprised that ishopukisfake got scammed. I'm thinking it won't be the last time. Harsh, yes, but true. I surely hope it's not the case though.

In my case the bank transfer proved to be safe, and I'm glad I didn't give ishopuk my credit card details. Paypal is legend for its insecurity and the it was not a spoof email, it was a standard paypal seccure checkout supposedly. It's easy to mock, scoff and be smug about accessing a site like this after its been shut down, but it did look professional and allot moreso on than many sites online.
Your opinion on whether I will get scammed again or not is irrelevant, and I doubt very much you have an ounce of sincerity in hoping I do not. why clog up the pages of a message board with smug condescending comments? I think some people really enjoy watching others making mistakes and being pompous about their own supposed infallibility.

Easy. What you call mocking was merely an observation. If my one post is clogging up this thread, well, I'll leave that to the others on here to decide. I knew you'd probably take offense but thought the "tough love" approach would benefit you, perhaps not. It just seems that you're blaming everything but your judgment skills or lack thereof. I really do hope you and the others get your iphones w/out any further issues. Hell, by the time you get one, you would have already paid for 2 which does suck. Just do it the safest and most legitimate way. Get it from an official retailer. That is all.

ishopukisfake - its not nice to be scammed but you are taking things a bit far by ranting thats its Apples fault because they won't sell you an iPhone for the price you want without a contract. Thats business, they choose to do it that way, many don't like it and maybe they will one day change it, but turning your anger against every person who decided to just get a contract (like they always have for every other phone they ever had with any other network in the past) is a bit pointless don't you think?

I do have some information that will be of use, telling you what to do, how to build a file and what the police will need to react, I may be able to give you details of an officer to contact who will take a look at the case, but I'm not sure I want to help as you will most likely just come back at me with all kinds of blue writing if they don't give you the result you want straight away. If you want some help calm down and come and find me. Otherwise keep going and best of luck - and I do mean that, I'm more than capable of sincerity, just because I don't like somebody's attitude doesn't mean I don't feel sorry for them ;)

I'm not saying its Apples fault, they have the right to sell out their product for large shares in mobile contracts and limit customer choice, I have only said it is cynical and sad of them to do that. Yes they are changing it, before Christmas they are offering the phone with a pay as you go option, which is good, just a shame they didn't stipulate that in the contracts from the start to let a broader apple audience use their products. I don't have a problem with anyone who has taken up a contract, what does annoy me is people poking fun and mocking others who have made the mistake of being conned by fraud websites.

I totally agree with you.... It is up to the individual as to whether they sign up for a contract, who with and what phone they want. If you want to carry on your bickering perhaps start up a new thread so that the people who do want to try and get somewhere with this IShop UK scam can talk to each other without you lot bitching and ranting at each other about something that is totally irrelevant to how this thread started. Yes it started about I-phones etc but not whether you should or shouldnt get it on contract !!!

So.... marccarter - if you do have any info that would help us I for one would be very grateful if you would share this with me / us. Private message me if you want..... I wont, as you put it just come back at me with all kinds of blue writing if they don't give you the result you want straight away ;)

WWW.ISHOPUK.INFO - Further information

I have had another look at the domain information in which the following company are listed.

GX NETWORKS LIMITED
5 ROUNDWOOD AVENUE
STOCKLEY PARK
UXBRIDGE
MIDDLESEX
UB11 1FF
Company No. 05306504

I've looked them up on Companies House website and they are listed so I think they are genuine but have been used as part of the scam. I think they are hosting the site. I have sent an email asking them to contact me. I will of course post any further updates.

I've also emailed 'Tucows' who are also named on the domain details.

There are also discussions going on in www.moneysavingexpert.com - I have posted updates on there too.

Personally I think you are born yesterday if you fall for getting binded into months of contracts from mobile companies.

I'm perfectly happy in my 18 month contract, thankyou very much.

I think anyone who doesn't realise Apple is a business who are trying to make money, above anything else, was born yesterday. They can do whatever the hell they want as far as I'm concerned (as long as its legal). If people want to buy their products they can, those who don't want to don't have to.

They are who 'Tim Blakes' registered the domain name, it's not their fault he used it as a fraudulent website. You could, however, get the police to make them hand over his real contact details which they could get from his IP address etc if the details he gave them are fake.

Answer to Moira

Yes, I know it's not GX Network or Tucows fault - It's merely another avenue to investigate to find which other scam sites he's listed and to get them stopped!!!

It may not be "Tim Blake" who has registered the site - it could be someone doing an identity fraud on the guy and using stolen credit card details.

Answer to Phil

Very good point. If he is and this does get investigated properly by the police he's in a lot more trouble than we thought!!!

Apple is partly responsible in my view, if they had cared about the consumer market in this country they would have offered the phone with the pay as you go option, not doing so has left the door open for back door trading and people setting up fraud websites like this one.

The Police are actually not that interested in looking into it, my bank has already taken up the case and is investigating with its fraud team. I have never "came back at people with blue language because I didn't get a result I wanted right away" - If someone is being smug, rude and sanctimonious about other people's mistakes and losing money I will tell them though. I don't think your help is required or of any use to be honest, I think your just another poster offended at someone responding to smug mockers like yourself and wanted to put in your penny's worth
