I was told you can't do a reservation online if it's an exchange. Gotta wait on line like its a regular purchase.

I'm probably just gonna keep the Plus. I like the Plus way too much. Realized this when I was on the line and was gonna do the exchange this morning but made the reservation instead to have more time to think.

I'll deal with the space and deleting and what not. Plus, iCloud photo library is gonna help big time. And my Dropbox account. And just transferring my pics and videos to my MacBook Pro. The Plus is such a satisfying experience and upgrade to the 5 that it's so difficult to give up for a regular 6. Idk. Lol.

Interesting. Wonder what they would do if I reserved online and told them I'm actually exchanging it instead when I come pick it up at the store.

Since you did do the reservation, did it charge your credit card for it or no?

I did the reservation at the store on the line. Waited an hour in hopes they got Pluses in the morning but no dice so I reserved the 128GB right there. But if you do it online I was told it will charge your card. I spoke to quite a few people at Apple and they told me the same thing each time.

I have like 5 hours to pick it up if I want but it's so very difficult to give up the plus. If I had a 128 or 64GB plus it would be the ideal situation but that's not happening. I would probably use only like 20GB anyway so that's why 32GB would have been such a sweet option to have.

The more difficult compromise for me is the Plus than the actual storage space. My wife has a 6 and every time I try to use it and try to get acclimated to it, I just don't feel as satisfied with that experience than with using my Plus. Still deciding but the Plus is such an awesome phone that it's a tough one to give up.

I felt with the larger screen, the fact that generation 6 jumps from 16 STRAIGHT to 64gb, this was a sign that there is no way a person could be satisfied with a 16gb huge screen iPhone.

I found that my original needs for a smartphone had grown from my initial purchase. Knowing what they do and seeing what the potential can be makes me very comfortable with my 128gb baby.

I want the storage space, sure, even tho I wouldn't use a ton of it, but the bigger screen and battery life is so much more satisfying to me. I don't know lol

Ahhh gotcha, sorry. Yeah I know what you mean, that screen is amazing. I've gone to a regular 64gb 6 from a 16gb Plus and I can definitely tell its a lower res screen. I know, I'm ocd / insane for going back and forth like this.

Yea man I have dealt with storage issues and I can do it again. This Plus is amazing no matter what storage it is.

I feel like by the way the conversation is going that you would really want a 6+ rather than a 6, OP, so I'm not sure why you'd be willing to settle for something you don't really want. If you'd prefer a 6+, I know waiting sucks but you may want to wait another week or so to see if any 64 or 128gb models show up someplace.

If you REALLY don't care either way then the 128gb 6 is, in my opinion, the better option - and I have a 6+. I just wouldn't recommend anyone who likes to do a lot on their phone to get a 16gb model unless you do a lot of storage micromanaging.

Does that mean they were unwilling to exchange the Plus 16 for the Plus 128 you reserved online? They did this for me last year so I don't understand why they won't at least extend your exchange period until a higher storage Plus is available. FWIW, I'd stick with the Plus anyway - I like mine more each day that I use it! But I'd sure try to talk them into letting you switch for more storage when available. It's not your fault they're not readily available for exchange - that's on Apple. Call Apple CS and explain your dilemma. If they don't budge, maybe they'll give you a free case to ease your low storage pain.:D

No they would let me do the exchange with no problem for the 128GB 6 from the 16gb plus. I might try to see if they can extend my exchange period but it sounds like they are being more firm on their 14-day stance. If not it's fine I can deal with this. The Plus is soooo incredibly difficult to give up once using it for a week

So I went to the Apple Store in Manhasset, NY and they were so awesome. I explained to dude in the front that I wanted to exchange a 16GB + for a 64 or 128 + but they were so difficult to find and my time was running out. He said there was a way where I could order the phone and then when it comes to the store to pick it up but that involved paying for the phone outright and then getting refunded later. Not an option for me. He then said we don't usually do this but go to the Genius Bar, and tell them your situation and they might be able to swap one out. I talked to a manager and they had the last 128GB + in the store and that's what I walked out with. More $ than I wanted to spend but I'm completely satisfied now and money can be made back. Eventually. Whew. LOL

the things apple can make a person do , spend $200 more than planned lol

Yep. It's all good, I do DJing on the side from the day job so I'll eventually make the money back. Just stings at the beginning but I'm over it. So awesome not to have to even care about storage anymore
