I think they ship it out the next morning or the same day, mine was shipped out the next morning.

sounds like what you saw were 1) a 12" PowerBook 2) a 14'' iBook and 3) a 15" PowerBook

There main problem is the shortage of Super Drives from Pioneer this is why
we are not getting the large amount of units as originally expected!

We have had no 17" Powerbooks this week so far so hopefully we may see a few
next week!

I'm really surprised and feel sorry that you haven't received yours at this time.

Got mine yesterday from MacConnection - ordered two days ago with the memory upgrade! I originally ordered at Amazon. com on March 1st, then I canceled and reordered at MacMall on April 1st and after I was told that they could not ship me anything till April 29th, I canceled again, and called MacConnection who advised me that they have quite a few in their inventory and filling orders with 1to 2 days delivery dates.

I am sure you have other Mac stores in UK other than those jokers you are dealing with. You are the CUSTOMER, YOU have the money, so tell them to go to hell and go to another place.

You are really missing out bruddah. This is one beautiful machine.

i think ill stick to my guns and wait for them to get them in stock due to them having given me a prce 20 % cheaper than the one on mac site seen as im a student like yeah im gonna use it for all of dat hehe 😛

apple store update...not

yesterday i was looking at the new face of the apple store. i discovered that the 17" PB were listed as a shipping date of 1-3 days.
now today, its back to 2-3 weeks.

what gives?

litosclone your very cruel but ahhhhh it does help with this 17th week wait thank you ver very much i love seeing pictures like that i just want to print it out (which i think i will mmmmm) and put it into the maccase i got for it to sleep in mmmmm ta again u pput me at peace for a while.......😱

well, i got my 17 last thursday...it looked good, but when i opend it it would not start up. finally i put in the install dvd and had to verify the hd and then install os x on it. it seemed to work fine.....

but then the the freezes came. at first just while typing in mail. then while typing in illustrator. then while trying to log on. it just kept on freezing. not the spin wheel or a panic. just freezing. at one point i was listening to itunes when it froze. the song first started to skip like a cd then it started playing again while everything else was stuck.

well to my dissapointment i had a flawed unit. i sent it back monday and i have to wait till they recieve it and put the money back on my card before they will send me another one. (no they won't just even exchange it, i have to be billed for the new one and since i don't have 6 grand on my debit card i have to wait till they get my old 17 back and credit my card...argh longer wait)

so now i'm waiting once again for the 17. better luck tomorrow.

oh no thats well unfair on you dude id hate that to happen to me, well at least you touches it smooth skin shell, i havent seen it in the flesh yet counting down the days till monday.... hope i get a phone call saying its there, many big retail shops have not got a demo unit in yet i still cant beleive it.Hope i dont get one that freezes up. 🙁

oh well ill be able to say im an owner of a mac and a switcher from windoze! 😀 🙂

well guys i had to say my 17 incher arrived eventually hehe i did as you guys said and ended the powerbook companies order i thought sack it ill get it quicker if i re order again, so i did and got it for $2000 with a gig ddr ram which is nice got it thru dads buisiness so im a happy switcher now but still getting used to it ...switching lights on and off, say is there like a good chat room to talk about powerbooks?

Welcome to a very exclusive club, UK 17" PowerBook owners, I think there are very few outside of Apple shops at the moment, I don't think it'll last though, the machine is just too damn good.

rego park queens store had one on display, not sure of the stock, but i am assuming they have them. This was last weekend that i noticed it, just didn't think anythin if it as i thought they were shipping regulalry now. I was surprised that it really wasn't that much different in size then the 15". I will be waiting for a 970 now, since i have a 15" tibook. Bit when that thing ships, I"M ON IT

How do you get it to play dvd's like that?...for me the widescreen doesnt extend to the sides, there is about 1.5" of black.
