Hi All! :cool:

This thread isn't about ANY OTHER CASES aside from the Otterbox Defender for the 6+

I'm sure there are plenty of you out there like me, who keep refreshing the Otterbox page and impatiently waiting for the colors you want to become available. As of today, the black slip cover and shell color are sold out, but the grey slipcover and white shell became available.

Personally, I'm looking for a teal shell with a black slip cover. :cool: Because of this, I'm refreshing two or three times a day, hoping it becomes available and crossing my fingers it isn't sold out by the time I refresh. They're moving fast!!!

I'm creating this thread to help all forum members looking for one of these cases get what they want the moment it releases. If you notice a new shell color or slip cover become available. Post here: Format as follows

Black Shell: SOLD OUT
Black Slip Cover: SOLD OUT
White Shell: AVAILABLE
Grey Slip Cover: AVAILABLE

If you notice more colors become available, just copy and paste the above format and add or take away as necessary.

Good luck everyone! If we're vigilant, we can get the colors we want on the first release.

Sorry if I'm out of the subject but I simply don't understand people buying such a gorgeous phone and slapping the ugliest case I've ever seen on it. That otterbox makes the phone look like a brick :\.

Not everyone thinks the phone is "georgeous." Not everyone thinks the case is ugly. Not everyone cares what other people think of what their phone looks like. Once you're out of high school you'll understand - you'll reach a point where you'll buy what you want because you like it and not because you want to impress your friends.

Maybe spend a little less time worrying about what my phone looks like. If you don't like it fine, but why come in this thread to post something so negative?

Easy man, it was just my opinion.
If you don't think the phone is gorgeous then why did you buy it? Makes no sense.

I work in an industry where I need as much protection from falls and bumps as possible. Otherwise, if it was a "stay-at-home" device, it would have it naked or in a "folio" style case.

Because IMO Apple makes the best phones with the best OS and the best apps. I don't buy it based on what it looks like. Just because I may not think it's "gorgeous" doesn't mean I can't like what it does. I put a case on mine, I really couldn't care less what it looks like.

If a Windows or Blackberry phone looked better (and IMO some of them do) would you buy it just because of its physical appearance?

Sweet!!! Take some pictures and let us know your thoughts! I would have purchased a Grey and White, but my current 4S is in that same color scheme and I wanted to change it up since I've had this for three years!

I personally wouldn't either. I LOVE what Apple has done with iOS and just overall "ease" of use. The hardware works very very well with the software, and I see no reason to switch back to DROID or any other platform in the near future. I've used all the phones and so far, I keep coming back to Apple

When did any otterbox defender become available? I must of not looked at the site just right.
 
perhaps I am missing something... the "build your own case" option seems to be available immediately.

EDIT: I am an idiot... you DON'T want the flashy colors. Got it. :)

Saw that after re-reading your post.

I actually don't mind the look of that case. I could certainly use one, though it wouldn't be an everyday case. I might have my wife grab one when they get them in at Best Buy. I imagine the color choices will be rather limited though. Liking the lime green with grey.

Easy to understand. They work in a rough environments and protection is a must. Some of use actually use our phones to get things done and don't see it as a fashion statement.

Excellent information, thanks for posting. I always remove that membrane as I never liked their screen protector. I always buy ZAGG Invisible Shields HDX and then remove (with a knife) the Otterbox Defender plastic protector they come with.

For those out there who don't remove their plastic, this video is VERY informative. If this happened to me, I would be PISSED!!! Otter would be getting a call from me that very same day demanding they repair my phone.

Can anyone confirm that you can remove the plastic membrain on the 6+ case and still use a glass screen protector? I'm getting tired of waiting on LP and not even sure if they will have a belt clip, they won't say as of now. I like all other aspects of the Defender though.

TBH: This video now has me looking into potentially going 180 and looking into a Lifeproof: NUUD

Keep in mind, Lifeproof was bought by Otter, so it's a great company. Now, how's drop protection?! This will require some research...
 
Otterbox defender did the same markings to my sons iPhone 6. I gave it a good rub with a special tv cleaner and microfiber cloth, and the markings came off completely.

The markings are not permanent damage as some suggest.
 
After much consideration and considerable research, I may actually end up getting the Lifeproof Nuud after all... Which is ridiculous considering I'm the one who started this thread.

I will keep this thread updated as the new shell and slip covers become available, for anyone who is still waiting availability.

Lastly, I would LOVE to have people post pictures and their own reviews of the case as they get them. I still think the Defender is a perfect case, and had I not bought the PLUS, I'd probably still be getting one. Fingers crossed, the NUUD will protect my phone from drops, it's my largest concern.

The case looks and feels very good even though I don't have a phone to put in it yet. I've had an otter box on every iPhone I've owned and this looks like the best yet. The inner shell snaps together easily and the outer rubber cover fits perfectly and will not come off or stretch easily. It fits great in the holster and the belt clip is solid. I also want to push out the plastic screen protector and use glass, I don't see where there will be any problems. The glue looks to be a little better but nothing a little goo gone won't fix.
