Why would anyone still pay for password managers? It's not even open source. For example, Proton Pass from ProtonMail is both 100% free forever (with some optional paid advanced/business features) and fully open source.

Why do people like you care? Are you paying for my plans? No. Free doesn’t always equal better.

Do you criticize people for buying something because what you have is cheaper? Why do people buy a Ford F150 when the Ford Focus is cheaper?

1Password may not be open source, but they are audited a lot. Open source is useless if people are not looking at the code. You know who else can see the code of open source? The hackers/bad guys also.

Open source isn’t 100% guaranteed safe either.

You say it’s free forever, can you guarantee that? No, you can’t. I used Proton email service, I didn’t like it.

I also don’t like using 1 company for everything. My passwords, email, photos, contacts, and others are all from different companies.

Here is an example of a vulnerability that wasn’t caught for 8 years in the Linux Kernel.

DirtyCred’ Vulnerability Haunting Linux Kernel for 8 Years

This is only 1 example; I have others.

Again, why do you care what others use? I am happy for people that use password managers, and I don’t care what they use. If they come to me for my opinion, I’ll help them.

Do I use open-sourced programs? Yes. Do I think they are 100% safe, no.

Do you use only open-source stuff? I am guessing no since you’re on here. Which I find funny someone pushing open source when Apple is clearly not open source.
