Any ad that starts with the vague promise of the "experience you deserve" should be avoided like the next episode of Young Sheldon.
I still use a older version of 1password. I will not pay for it every month. Storing the passwords somewhere else other than my computers is not an option.I am almost in the same position.
Now using Bitwarden and have never looked back.
In a similar situation, moved to Bitwarden from LastPass when LastPass became too greedy. I am paying for the premium service of Bitwarden, which is much cheaper than other options and am not looking back.I am almost in the same position.

Just youDid anyone notice that Apple was not on the list of companies that offer passkey support?
Especially those of us who got suckered into buying extra-expensive upfront "lifetime" purchases, only for 1Pass to then turn around and say those purchases were only valid for that specific release of software, which would no longer be supported, and we'd need to pay a subscription fee to continue using it.It's always good to have 1Password threads on here so everyone can express their delight for subscription-based software! 😃
But the gradual roll out of passkeys is great and much welcome news.
I've used 1Password for many many years on MBP, iPhone, iPad and do NOT have a monthly fee. Originally purchased on Apple App Store. I suppose Im grandfathered in on version 6.8.9I don't mind paying for 1Password. I tried the free stuff after unsubscribing and crawled back to 1Password. I use 1Password for a lot more than just passwords. I don't know how their product will work with this new technology though or if it is needed.
I agree. My oldest daughter and me both use Linux and it’s nice that it works on everything. It'll only be seamless on Apple products. For what it's worth, that's limiting your environment. Some of us aren't tied to that ecosystem, or might eventually want to "look beyond the wall".
Are there any notable sites that use passkeys?
I'm still on 7, but my experience has been the same, 1Password's Safari integration and iOS apps seem increasingly more forgetful, and in the case of the browser extension, plain flaky over the last year or so.All great but it seems I have to enter my 1Password master password frequently with these newer version than before on various devices. I think this is a security issue since the master password is being used more... it should never be asked for again after initially setting up a device, and instead another password could be generated/used. Having to enter the Master password all the time (especially if you are using secure complex characters) is inconvenient. I think this may be an iOS issue though since other apps seem to lose passwords after a while.
they have a listAre there any notable sites that use passkeys?
Totally agree. As much as I hate paying $5 a month, nothing else works the same way. Fantastical is the same lol.I love 1Password. To me it's truly the best way to manage your passwords and the best way to access them from any device you own, no matter the OS.
It's a delight to use and you get a consistent experience across all your devices. It just works.
The fact that I will be able to use passkeys in the same consistent way on my Mac, iPhone, iPad, gaming PC and the occasional Linux VM is just pure gold to me.
I always laugh when people complain about 5 dollars a month for family/3 for individual for 1password while they are probably the same people who drive teslas and go to starbucks every morning.Totally agree. You got the second part right, but I drive a Scion xB with two hubcaps missing 😜 (Probably because I go to Starbucks every morning!!)I always laugh when people complain about 5 dollars a month for family/3 for individual for 1password while they are probably the same people who drive teslas and go to starbucks every morning.
I would not mind paying. I won’t store my passwords on anything other than our devices. Switching to EnPass (corrected)I always laugh when people complain about 5 dollars a month for family/3 for individual for 1password while they are probably the same people who drive teslas and go to starbucks every morning.
